Okay,
I want to be lazy and have someone send me all of the parts needed to convert the makerbot electronics as shown in the mendel wiki. I'm going to have faith that someone can pull this off. In exchange I will send a laser cut thick sheet set cut out of mdf. You take care of shipping to me and I'll take care of shipping to you.

This is a limited time offer. Probably best if you have extra of all the parts and can send them out of your own stock.

I will also accept a complete order list from mouser emailed to me. But you'll have to reimburse me for shipping the laser cut parts.

your parts should be able to convert 1 motherboard, 3 stepper drivers, extruder controller, and 6 opto endstops. (a full set of electronics)

Preferably your located in the lower 48.

I just can't stand the idea of doing a bunch of work already done.

Also, If you don't need the laser cut set I can offer laser cutting now or in the future.

Hi, I've been working on trying to figure out what is needed for the conversion and power/usb stuff that I couldn't find fully documented anywhere either. Here is what I have so far in a google spreadsheet:

I went through everything and it all checks out except for 2 things. First, the ribbon cable I ordered was the wrong length and the one I think I need is out of stock until next month and a lot more expensive. (only comes in 100' long even though you only need about 7' and costs $21: [mouser.com]) Also, I thought the USB cable connector came with crimp pins but it didn't. I also realized I could save a few bucks and use breakaway pin headers for the endstops. I updated my spreadsheet at: [spreadsheets.google.com]

Also I ordered the XLR connectors and they're right, even though I plan on using a regular LCD monitor DC power supply connector. The DC connector looks like it will work. I just need to design a new bracket to replace the printed XLR bracket.
