120 with high accel and jerks is doable with magnets.by billyzelsnack - Delta Machines
Quotenebbian I can't see how having the ball on the arms has any advantage. When people put magnets on the rods the diameter of the magnet used is typically much smaller. DJDemonD. If you put a ferrous set screw or other piece of metal in the bore of the countersunk magnet that is restrained to not quite touch the ball it will act as a pole piece to better direct the field. In my setup I get aby billyzelsnack - Delta Machines
Very nice. It looks like it is hanging which is great. The way you orient it is very clever too.by billyzelsnack - Delta Machines

Quotehercek If you want to print quickly then you also need high acceleration especially if your models will have a lot of holes. And if you need high accelerations then you need a delta. And my suspicion is that it needs to be delta with ball angle joints and not magnetic joints. I do not know whether magnetic joints can handle high accelerations. People did not respond to my questions about thiby billyzelsnack - Delta Machines
QuoteTraumflug QuotebillyzelsnackWhat do you believe is a reasonable time frame for non-derivative files to be released? Zero seconds, of course. Bad enough designs are published only after going into production. What is your argument that you believe entitles you to immediate access of non-derivative source files?by billyzelsnack - General
QuoteTraumflug Quotepossenierit's more than understandable they wait for 6 months to release the files. I'm very happy that they stay true to open source, and don't go the fakerbot way. The Open Hardware movement gets more and more ridiculous. Now even keeping desings secret is claimed to be "true open source". What next? Cheering for patented designs? With a patent you have the design publisheby billyzelsnack - General

QuoteMichaelAtOz I just noticed another patent Filing date Mar 16, 2012 "The liquefier assembly of claim 1, wherein the hollow liner compositionally comprises polytetrafluoroethylene." ie a teflon liner. Nice. Makerbot themselves are prior art. My Makerbot Cupcake order was Dec31 2010 and it had a PTFE core. On a side note.. I've been wondering what I should do with my Cupcake. In my household there is an ongoing joke of often (at least daily) saying to my wife, "I had a new idea." That's the part where she can just stop listening and I talk AT her for 5 minutes.by billyzelsnack - General
This print is pretty boring these days so I decided a try at 50% (17.5mm). A bit overstuffed, but all the features are still in place.by billyzelsnack - Competitions

This simple bowden design for a delta end effector is working out pretty well for me. It's laser cut acrylic all bolted/clamped together with spacers to the end effector. The acrylic is beveled a bit with a file and when clamped together it is not going anywhere.by billyzelsnack - General

Looks like you can get that module on an arduino shield too.by billyzelsnack - Controllers
WIFI via other routes is much more heavyweight and more expensive. I think it would be interesting to see the module on a controller board. Maybe you could even set it up so you can upload firmware to the controller. If so you could get rid of FTDI chip on the controller board. As for modifying the firmware on the module that's just cake.by billyzelsnack - Controllers
This page has some good infos Someone swapped out the firmware Here's a little easier to order version on dx.com Here's a $25 devkit. It seems like with a little work this could be quite useful for our purposes. Am I missing something?by billyzelsnack - Controllers
