Using polygons solved my issue. My holes look great. Overall my print jobs look good, though I'm sure there's room for improvement.by dotyj - General Mendel Topics
I'm printing my first 3mm diameter holes using polycoms tonight. We'll see how it goes.by dotyj - General Mendel Topics
I'm having similar hold trouble. My holes look good but print way too small. I've heard that using stretch in skeinforge solves this issue but haven't found a guide to what to set it to for .35mm nozzles. Also I red where someone suggested using polygons instead of round circles for creating holes. I believe he recommended creating 2 vertices for every 1mm in diameter. So a 3mm hole would neby dotyj - General Mendel Topics
Isn't that awesome? I saw that one for the first time earlier today. Pointedstick Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I only buy filament in spools. Hi all: After seeing a couple of photos I started wondering how people are dealing with keeping their filament flowing into their printers. I looked at a few solutions online and designed and printed this one. The mount angles the spool so that it matches the angle of the a-frame on the printer. It's easily removable so that I can switch filament quickly. The feeder point attached to the priby dotyj - General

I have Stretch turned on, but I can't say that my settings are correct. I've only been successfully printing since last month and I've got a lot of learning to do. Here are my stretch settings: Cross Limit Distance Over Perimeter Width (ratio): 5.0 Loop Stretch Over Perimeter Width (ratio): 0.11 Path Stretch Over Perimeter Width (ratio): 0.0 - Perimeter - Perimeter Inside Stretch Over Perimeteby dotyj - General Mendel Topics
Fascinating article. I use AutoDesk 123D to do my drawings. On my next model I will use the polygon tool to make my small circles and see what happens. jv4779 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You can see some background here. Hi all: I hope this is the correct group for this question. I have my Prusa Mendel set up pretty well with dimensions of print jobs coming out to within 99.5% accuracy but I've hit a weird snag. When I print something with inner dimensions such as circles and cut outs within a part the dimension of these parts is always smaller than what I've modeled and I can't figure out why. Has anyone elsby dotyj - General Mendel Topics
I don't know if you'll find this helpful or not. At one point I thought I'd completely bricked my gen6 board uploading my firmware after adjusting my three axises. Turned out I hadn't waited long enough after my computer said it had finished uploading the new firmware before turning off power to my gen6 board.by dotyj - Controllers
It's been a real mess. As of Friday night a friend of mine and I working together completely untangled the yellow filament and wrapped it around a 5 gallon bucket using an occasional piece of painters tape along the way to keep it in place. It took two very stiff drinks at the local Mexican restaurant, and an hour or so of finding knots. I started printing someone else's design (I forget who)by dotyj - General
Okay, I'll bite on this one. I've been buying parts to build my Prusa since the beginning of the year or so. I finally printed my first model in August. I'm slowly learning how to work with skeinforge, and AutoDesk 123D and still have lots of work to do. In the photo my printer is printing the hub for a spool holder I'm building. Yup, I tangled up all that awesome yellow filament and can't sby dotyj - General
