I've found a couple:by johnbiehler - General Mendel Topics
I used to have to always babysit my Prusa when I used the stock Slic3r start/end gcode until I used RichRap's excellent Slic3r tutorial (in particular, part 2) which has some custom gcode that basically does this: heat the bed (not applicable on Tantillus) home X, home Y, home Z (in that order) heat hotend move to first position and start print Start gcode: G28 ; home all axesby johnbiehler - Tantillus
Ha...that was me! Here's a brief post with a few photos from last night as well as the video:by johnbiehler - Tantillus
I figured you'd be up late....that's too bad about the extruder...but as you say, it's workable and now you can design and print a better one!by johnbiehler - Tantillus
Awesome job! The case is a tough print indeed...glad you were able to get it done!by johnbiehler - Tantillus
Sounds great....I should be done with the Tantillus parts early next week. My kits are between $80-105 depending on filament color. I'll PM you Monday/Tuesday when I'm done the other stuff.by johnbiehler - Canada, Vancouver RepRap User Group
I second James' suggestion of the Nophead style couplings. I can print you some if nobody else has already offered.by johnbiehler - Canada, Vancouver RepRap User Group
I can print you a set of parts...do you already have your vitamins? My only issue will be timing...this week is quickly getting filled up and I'm out of town this weekend so I likely won't finish printing them until next week at the earliest.by johnbiehler - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Many of us have got our hardware kits from Mixshop and got the printed parts from someone in the group. I don't have full kits, just printed parts. Alternatively, our club has spawned two different printers that are for sale (or soon to be) that you may be interested in as well. Check out my MakerFaire post for photos and links to Brad's Tantillus and Eugene's Ditto printers if you want somethby johnbiehler - Canada, Vancouver RepRap User Group
Following the success of our club's appearance at MakerFaire Vancouver, we've outgrown a few things, including our hodge podge of online presences including this forum and a private Facebook group. Our members have other printers than just repraps so we've created a machine agnostic Google Group you can find here: http://3d604.org which (we hope) better encompasses our membership beyond the Fraby johnbiehler - Canada, Vancouver RepRap User Group
Consider yourself joined! We're just getting a formal site setup for the group: http://3d604.org which links to a Google Group at present. We'll be adding more localized stuff like a sources wiki and more soon. As for Prusa Kits, many of the folks here can print you a set...were you looking for a full kit, just printed parts or just wondering where to start? I can print you a set of parts. Yoby johnbiehler - Canada, Vancouver RepRap User Group
We meet every 2 weeks so I'm sure you'll get out to one soon. I'm pretty sure we'd love to check out the machine for exactly the reasons you said. One of our members has a BFB 3D Touch which was quite a hit at MakerFaire thanks to the giant Yoda head Andrew had printed with it. But also, the mechanical build of these larger machines has lots to offer the reprap crowd. Do you have a showroom orby johnbiehler - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Welcome! As you probably gathered, most of the folks here are more hobbyist/DIY than industrial or commercial users but we do get plenty of questions about the commercial applications and machines and some of us have day jobs or school that work with the bigger machines. Did you make it out to MakerFaire at all? We chatted with literally thousands of people about this stuff for 2 days straightby johnbiehler - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Note that I've already submitted the crew form for the 3d Printer Village...if you need anyone else on the list, let me know rather than submitting the form.by johnbiehler - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
In Canada, you can check out Voxelfactory.com (in Montreal I believe). I haven't dealt with them personally though.by johnbiehler - Canada, Vancouver RepRap User Group
I may be camping that weekend.by johnbiehler - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Welcome! I'd just to 'slightly ruffle' your $400 goal though...as others have stated, you can source/recycle the main parts all you want, there is quite often additional costs beyond motors and RAMPS parts. Very few (if any) kits that I've seen truly come with everything you'll need and having built 3 different printers over the last year (MakerBot Thing-O-Matic, Prusa Mendel and now a Tantilluby johnbiehler - General
Why did you have to sign up? Their email address is on their homepage: support@makerbot.comby johnbiehler - Reprappers
Good luck, Mkouri! I failed at printing it in Nuclear Green ABS on a MakerBot but would love to see a translucent green one in PLA! Now that my Prusa is up and running, I really should try at least one panel piece to see if it can print it better than my MakerBot did:by johnbiehler - Tantillus
Now Brad, that's not exactly true....Apple has openly mentioned it's opensource roots and unlike the others in the same space, gives away all their development tools. You're sounding like someone that's never used the platform and is basing your assumptions on myths and FUD. They are a hardware company first with the software being very much secondary....and in the case of their OS, realized BSDby johnbiehler - General
You need to use either kapton or blue painters tape if you want it to stick....kapton is the best that I've used and it has to be cleaned with acetone or you'll get curling.by johnbiehler - Reprappers
This is great! I wish I had seen this when I started my Prusa build last year...the biggest problem is finding one place with the current 'known good' setup...even if it's just a list of links...still incredibly helpful to those just starting.by johnbiehler - General
Gerald Orban has a Replicator and said on FB that he wants to participate too.by johnbiehler - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
I'll be there with my Tantillus prototype build (thanks to Sublime for the build session yesterday)...just waiting on my RAMPS kit to ship from Mixshop...which is sadly not due until April 26th at the earliestby johnbiehler - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Kind of hard to compare with so many different vendors (and resellers) out there....my green PLA is likely very different. Every batch can also be different. I have two spools of 'nuclear green' ABS that are quite different, likely made 4 months apart from the same source.by johnbiehler - General
This seems a little silly....just because you don't know how to use a piece of software (or only try to use it for 5 minutes), doesn't make it bad. I'm not defending OpenSCAD...it can certainly be daunting and way above my skill level, just like many other modeling tools. It's whatever tool people find/learn/use for 12 years that they're comfortable with. Not everyone has the same tools but at lby johnbiehler - General
You don't want to use a fan with ABS...taller prints will crack and separate before it finishes.by johnbiehler - General
