bit of a noob so sorry if I'm barking up the wrong tree, trying to get a handle on some of the issues I willl face when I do my first print (hopefully soon) from your first pic the error is much smaller at the top were the print its only a couple mm across, could it be caused by backlash (rodflex) on the xy axis due to the deceleration being too high and there for moving the nuts/barsm admittedlyby wilot309 - General
I think the VORBAT Challenge is quite cool/fun concept, but would actually agree more with NoobMan’s methodology. I don’t mean burning them all alive, but don’t use motors don’t use some crazy complex punch tape CNC’esk method. It looks like they could knock up some chunky gears, a sturdy frame, maybe they can get some threaded rod but I bet would be easier to use some belt driven system, maybeby wilot309 - Developers
Interesting, I have thought the same for a while, almost to the point that I find it a little irritating to call it self-replicating machine, so glad to hear someone else point this out. A CNC mill that could mill out parts to build a clone of its self, is not a self-replicating mill, it’s just a milling machine But with MattMoses endeavours, and VDX believing it is possible I’m more willing toby wilot309 - Developers
