Warping only occurs if you build using ABS, HDPE and so on. If you build using PLA there is no warping..... There aren't any plans on guides on the web for a larger machine, but within reason ( 30x30 should be fine) its just a case of increasing the length of the bars and making a bigger bed edit: I lied! you get much less warping with PLAby roj20 - General
There are still some changes to be made....mainly due to the head changer. If you can only envisage working with plastic filament then the current design is fine. However, when the head changer comes along there will be some small modifications to the extruder motor bracket, so you'll need to remake the extruder. Aside from that the rest of the head changer should just clamp onto the top bars sby roj20 - General

All of the suggestions made I would say are valid. however, I would say if your trying to implement an extruder or other practical device, You should try to have two mini projects, just to have one as a backup.
