Never let a little "knowledge" stop you from trying something new!by B9Creations - General
There are reasons I made the B9Creator the way I did. Everything is a trade off. One trade you might be overlooking is the non-linear increase in power required to cure "bigger" objects. Best! MikeJby B9Creations - General

QuoteJapica3D Just an FYI, the Eiffel tower is not from this Form1, it doesn't even look like it, if you would put on some glasses. Its actually a rendering, way to go idiots. Sorry, this is an exact photo shopped copy from a Form1 print image. It is not a render. Take a close look at the attached image, the position, lighting and color make it clear where your tower came from. Instead of calby B9Creations - General
Anytime a company thinks it's OK to photo-shop in a fake build, I'd say buyer best beware... That "Eiffel Tower" build looked very familiar and a quick google search found the exact tower image on multiple links (It was actually printed on a Form1). For example: I doubt they asked anyone's permission to use that Eiffel Tower print image. And to pass it off as something their machine produceby B9Creations - General
If I had to guess, that's a sheet of Teflon FEP. It's purpose is not to absorb light but rather as the cured object is lifted up, the teflon sheet peels off and that's what allows the most recently cured layer to detach from the bottom of the vat. I assume there's some sort of frame or something that seals the film to the bottom and keeps the resin from flowing under the film?by B9Creations - Polymer Working Group
We're using kickstarter to launch another run of B9Creators. Thanks! MikeJby B9Creations - For Sale
For those printing with UV/Visible light resins I thought this was a great idea. The solar powered turntable is genius! The white box is made from two UV fingernail curing devices. All components can be easily sourced from amazon, etc. Original posting link MikeJby B9Creations - Polymer Working Group

B9Creator can do 50 micron XY and 25 micron Z but at that resolution build size is reduced to 51.2 x 38.4 x 200 mm. At 100 micron XY and 25-100 micron Z build size is 102.4 x 76.8 x 200 mm.by B9Creations - General

Overview The moon is a stepping stone for us. We must take care of how we step. But stepping forward and out of the cradle is perhaps better than stepping all over each other? On the bottom? I like having the projector accessible and cooling is not an issue. If someone was using it outside, in bright sunlight, sitting on a mirror ;-) there might be a problem with light pollution, but haven't seen any with normal indoor lighting.by B9Creations - General
I've seen that Illinois video, pretty inspiring stuff!by B9Creations - General
For both our method and the top down method the layer thickness is determined as the distance between the last cured layer and the projection plane (surface for top down, vat bottom for bottom up). BUT, some areas (overhangs, etc.) won't have cured previously cured layers to "stop" the light from going too far. Both methods control that with pigments which absorb the correct frequencies and limby B9Creations - General
Yes, the resin cures like a glue. I've seen those experiments and they demonstrate the basics of the process very well. But in practice, especially on a larger object, you must submerge the object deep enough so that the resin flows over it and then raise it to the next cure position (and the resin on top must flow off). Most "good" resin fluids are more viscous than those in the experiment andby B9Creations - General
Right, we move the vat to release the object from the projection plane. Top down would require a film and wiper to ensure a consistent layer between the last cured layer and the projection image. Gravity hasn't been an issue for these objects, they are strongly attached to the aluminum build base.by B9Creations - General
Sorry, completely missed that. Photo-initiated polymer resins that react in the visible light spectrum aren't really new and there are open source formula's online: [3dprinter.wikidot.com] Mounting the projector above would require a deep vat of resin, putting it underneath reduces the amount of reserve material needed. The idea of using light radiation to solidify a liquid resin dates back to aby B9Creations - General
I've posted "August" as the delivery date for kits. So I'd estimate the end of August at the latest. If I find I have time to organize everything and get it posted sooner I will do that, but my first priority will be delivering the promised rewards. Mikeby B9Creations - General

2300 lumens, 2000:1 contrast ratio. Probably not the best but one I happened to already have. I certainly expect to modify the projector/lens, etc. I'd much rather spend more on the final machine if there's a significant "sweet spot" in the resin trades that result in lower material costs.by B9Creations - Polymer Working Group
