Hi there, I'm 17 and I managed to assemble a printer by myself so you should be able to assemble it no problem. I too lack engineering experience but it didn't make much of a difference, as Nudel said I would recommend buying assembled electronics to save yourself time and potential frustration, it is only a small bit more to buy them assembled. It took me about 3 days to get everby Mascroge - General
Well I bought the board "working and tested". All the trimpots look to be set the same. The weird thing is the z axis driver can move both z axis motors and remain cool to the touch however the x and y axis drivers get very hot ( almost burning to the touch) despite not moving the motors. If I disconnect the motors from the x and y drivers they do not heat up at all,so could it be a problem withby Mascroge - General
Ok I I tried Arduino .23 and it worked. I uploaded the firmware and I can now move the Z axis up and down however the x and y axis are still unresponsive . The strange thing is the x and y drivers get very hot despite the motors not moving but the z axis driver stays cool even though it is moving the motors. Is it possible that the trimpots are turned too high on the x and y drivers? Could thatby Mascroge - General
I am running Arduino 1.0, so should I switch to an older version of Arduino or use different software? I think I have the sanguino extension installed, if I go to tools>board my sanguino board is listed there.by Mascroge - General
So does anyone know what to do, I am really lost here.by Mascroge - General
Ok am using Sanguinololu with Sprinter and I made the changes you suggested. Here are my settings; // Tonokip RepRap firmware rewrite based off of Hydra-mmm firmware. // Licence: GPL //Check Version of Arduino and then include the right libraries #if defined(ARDUINO) && ARDUINO >= 100 #include "Arduino.h" #else #include #endif #include "fastio.h" extern "C" void __cxa_pure_by Mascroge - General
Ok when I try to compile the configuration.h file it says; /Sprinter.h:6:23: error: Arduino.h:no such file or directory. I can see a file called arduino.h in the arduino folder so I am not really sure what this means.by Mascroge - General
How do I do that? I know you have to use the arduino software and upload a configuration file but I am not really sure what to do.by Mascroge - General
I plugged in the the x and then the y axis into the z axis controller and they both work but still can only move forward. So is there some setting I have to change? Both x and y axis motors power on when plugged into their respective motors, maybe they are getting too little(too much?) power.by Mascroge - General
So I have finally assembled my printer. All the motors are connected and the electronics work however I am unable to move the X or Y AXIS, the motors turn on but they don't move, I can turn the x motor by hand but the y axis motor lock up completely . The z axis is able to move up but not down. Also the x and y stepper drivers get quiet hot but the z axis doesn't which is odd. The electronicby Mascroge - General
How much does 100m of 3mm PLA weigh? I'm guessing a kilo but i'm not sure.by Mascroge - General
The prusa in the video is a makergear prusa which you can get in kit form for $825 from here.by Mascroge - General

Thanks for the quick replies guys, I have a couple more questions. It's down to the sanguinololu and the Azteeg X1. 1) I assume you can use a bench power supply (I bought the one from Lulzbot) with sanguinololu? 2) Do the electronics need a fan? 3) Sanguinololu has four motor drivers but prusa mendel has five motors how do you connect theby Mascroge - General
Hi, I need some help deciding on the best electronics for a Prusa Mendel V2,I know ramps is the best but also the most expensive and I would like to save some money. The other electronics I was looking at were Sanguinololu and Gen 6/7. However I have come a across a new cheap board called Azteeg X1 which has further muddied the picture. I am looking for the best bang for the buck, also Iby Mascroge - General
I got it for free about a month ago but haven't actually used it yet. However they send alot of emails to my address maybe 5-6 a week about their products.by Mascroge - General
Hi, I am interested in purchasing the printer, do you ship to Ireland and if so at what cost? Thanksby Mascroge - For Sale
Hi guys, Thanks for all the help, couple more questions, How many aluminium couplings would I need ? Can I leave the printer running by itself or do I need to watch it in case of fire etc? How long would say 5lb of PLA last? Are there any easily preventable mistakes I should look out for? Thanks guys.by Mascroge - General
Hi guys, I'm getting ready to order the parts for my first rep rap, could someone check to make sure I have everything I need and that all the parts will work together?
