How do you wire up the 4 pin opto endstops to the 3 pin endstop connectors on the board?by mchenetz - For Sale
Does the Bed have to be exactly level in all corners or is there some kind of tolerance? What is the best reference point from the bed to measure from? I am thinking that one of the reasons my ABS parts come up on one side could be that my bed is not level enough. Thanks for your help. Mikeby mchenetz - General
@DeuxVis Again, no worries... I am pretty even keeled about stuff.. I learned a very long time ago to not take forum posts personally and to not get upset. I am just trying to contribute to and learn from the Reprap community now. Mikeby mchenetz - General
Thanks a lot... I am going to try some of your suggestions. I will take a look at my hobbled bolt and see whats going on. Maybe i just have to tighten my screws on the extruder to allow it to grip the ABS better... I forget if ABS was tighter or PLA... I will try it... Mikeby mchenetz - Printing
@brnrd No Worries... I wasn't offended. I am learning that it is pretty hard to make objects that are big because of warp factors anyway. Mikeby mchenetz - General
I am done responding to this topic. I am not trying to say that in a bad way or to offend anyone. I just don't feel like i can say any more about the subject. I had a good experience. Take it as you will. I am not working for the company. so i have no interest in whether someone buys from them or not. I have moved on to asking questions related to my current need using while the Reprap Mendel. Iby mchenetz - General

I ust thought i would mention that daz3d is offering their pro line of 3d modeling software for free right now. I am not sure how much it will help out here. I just thought iwould mention it. www.daz3d.com Mikeby mchenetz - General

I have about 4" Kapton tape... What is the trick to adhering it to the bed evenly? IT seems i always have bubbles under the tape. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mikeby mchenetz - General
Thanks for the comments... I think it may have something to do with my extrusion calibration though... I had adjusted my E axis and I think the layers may be too thick and they are scraping against the previous layer. There may still be some other issue, because it's not printing perfectly. However, i lowered the Extrusion rate for the E-axis to 366 and it seems to be working better.by mchenetz - General
All of a sudden, i am getting these prints that do not line up. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Picture of bad printby mchenetz - General
I realize that other people have had bad experiences. It is not my intention to convince people to buy from Botmill. It is only my intention to relay my experience. I find that, on the internet, people tend to post more about bad experiences and not when they have good. That is all. As for me... I am a fairly well known music tech blogger. I have not been on this forum for too long because i justby mchenetz - General
I just have to mention another little incident that occurred... I had broken my lower x-carriage when i was taking swapping my hotend out. I was on a call with botmill and i mentioned that i probably had a good enough x-carriage to print out a new one. Without hesitation, they said, "Give me your address and i will send out a new one today". One day later, i had my new x-carriage and my j-head haby mchenetz - General
I was going by print size: lulzbots: 175mm x 190mm x 100mm (6.8inch x 7.4" x 3.9) botmill: 8" (W) x 8" (D) x 5.5" (H) It could be that the listed print area is wrong, but that is all i had to go on. Mikeby mchenetz - General
I am actually working on a DIY website right now and i am planning to outline me experiences with a 3d printer and hopefully teach people how to use it. I am a long time blogger in the Music Tech world. If you search for me on the internet, you will see thousands of hits and know that i am a reputable person. Again, i am not saying that Botmill is going to continue to service people well in the fby mchenetz - General
I agree that there may have been some issues in the past. I read the forums before i made my choice of vendors. It did make me hesitate before I bought from Botmill. However, there are not to many vendors that can ship next day and have the machine that i want. I did not want the Prusa because it had a smaller size bed. I do not like to wait for things, so i wanted a fast turn around time. It isby mchenetz - General
I actually just asked them what firmware is installed and they said 5d and sent me the firmware they use. Mikeby mchenetz - General
I have been reading over the forums for the last few weeks while deciding which Reprap machine to buy. It took a while to decide on a vendor and a machine to buy. The machines that i were considering were as follows: Botmill Glider lulzbots prussa repman 3.2 In the end, despite the bad reviews of the company, i decided on the Botmill. My thought process was that Botmill was a small company thaby mchenetz - General
