It looks like it is a Gen 6 clone of some sort, considering they used the atmega644.by naldarn - Controllers
What laser unit and driver did you use and how did you mount to the reprap?by naldarn - Laser Cutter Working Group
I posted several pm's, have you received them?by naldarn - Wanted
I have both a gen3 and a gen3 techzoneremix extruder board, either for 20 plus shipping. I can load any firmware you want so it will be ready out of the box.by naldarn - Wanted
Thought I would be able to get them for less with the other electronics coming out. I could do 30USD shipped for 2 stepper drivers, but not any more for now. Thanks anyway.by naldarn - Wanted
Thanks for the offer, I will let you know next week.by naldarn - Wanted
I have most of a set of Gen 3 electronics, and would like to finish the set. If anyone has any, post a price you want to ship to 48618. I do have a number of opto endstops for trade if that works for anyone.by naldarn - Wanted
Does it include the Arduino Mega, and how much are you looking to get for it?by naldarn - For Sale
You will need a 5 phase drive to run a 5 phase stepper, which I happen to have. If you want a drive for the motor or to get rid of the motor, I can help you either way.by naldarn - Controllers
You may need to burn a bootloader first, since this is the same error I got before adding the bootloader.by naldarn - General
Thanks for all the help. Just to test the electronics, I was able to upload the 1.6 motherboard and 1.8 extruder firmwares from replicatorg, and get it to move the motor! The machines.xml file did allow the adjustment of speed and current running the stepper. Upgrading to a more recent firmware and using reprap host would be useful, esp. since I would like to add a heated bed in the nearby naldarn - Plastic Extruder Working Group
I bought the boards from MakerBot, I have gotten several versions of the firmware, the latest from replicatorg 16, reprap-mendel-20100308, and a couple others. Made the changes needed for replicatorg to show the rpm field for stepper control. The reprap firmware crashes both the extruder and the motherboard when I use the reprap host software on windows xp. One of 2 things may be at fault, the power from the power supply to the unit has to be on and you need to reset the motherboard just before you upload the firmware using a ttl-usb cable. Or, there is a jumper next to the ICSP header on the firmware that auto-resets for the programming. In both cases you have to have power to the motherboard. If you have the firmware you are currently using, coby naldarn - Firmware - mainstream and related support
I would go with Wade's, since the printed parts make building it easier. It also doesn't take much in special tools.by naldarn - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Seems to me that the difference is what tools you have to build with. Wade's extruder needs a printer to produce it, and Adrian's could be made with hand tools and a drill press. Since you are more a software guy, do you have the latest software to run a stepper extruder? I have built an extruder but cannot get the software to drive it.by naldarn - Plastic Extruder Working Group
A good thought, are you designing the board yourselves?by naldarn - Wanted
I am using emc2 as well, and can access the pins via the parallel port. My thinking was that a simple pwm control from a thermister reading a low and high end temp for working range would increase or decrease current to the heater within that range. A couple of readings per second would be enough for a heater once up to temp. The feed of the head would be controlled based on the distance printedby naldarn - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
I am close to making a cnc mill print ABS, but need an extruder controller board. If anyone has one for sale, or is willing to buy the kit from makerbot and solder it up, I would gladly pay the 45 plus shipping that they want for the fully assembled controller board. They just don't seem to get them in stock. Peter Cauchyby naldarn - Wanted
