Thanks for all the help so far. configuration.h file is attached. If you have ever seen a SeeMeCNC H-1, the thing is basically a piece of crap. The build plate is warped by at least 2 cm, the axes wobble at least a cm in each direction, etc. I think the stepping problem is a combination of the many design flaws of the printer. In Marlin, can anyone tell me what #define DEFAULT_MAX_ACCELERATION {9000,9000,100,10000} is and what the values reflect? I changed the x value from the default 9000 to lower increments and the problem got progressively better. When x max acceleration is zero, the problem is, to my best knowledge, nonexistent. James- Thanks for the reply. I will try those things, however the problem of the motor stepping to the left every layer happens even when printing dry, cold, and when the z axis is lifted far above the bed. Any other ideas as to what could be causing the x axis to skip steps? Thanks!by xkylewrightx - General

Hi Andrew- I have tried upping the current by turning the x pot to the right, but any more current than what I have it set as starts making the motor pause every second (because of too much power?). I have considered that friction or over extrusion may be the cause, but the print still moves to the left when printing dry, cold, and when z axis is lifted far above the bed... Any other ideas? Hey guys, was wondering if anyone would be able identify a solution to a problem I am having. I have never successfully printed on this printer. As you can see in the pictures attached, the printer will print a few layers but will then lose its place and start a layer a few cm to the left of the layer before it. This is a great link for calibrating the printer, however I think I need to "home" the head and build plate first. It doesn't seem to know where it is, as when controlling the x, y, and z movement from inside the GUI of pronterface, it will stop before reaching the end in one direction and hit the end of the track in the other. It doesn't know what position is 0. Where can I set this? Also- (afby xkylewrightx - General

Alright! I compiled and uploaded Marlin without a problem this time, after unhooking the reprap and power source. This is what is coming out of my Serial Monitor. Any ideas? I just tried uploading an example sketch using arduino (found in File>examples>stepper>stepper_oneRevolution) to see if the board would be responsive, it compiled and uploaded but board now has one red light solid, one blinking. In addition I have a strange sound coming from my power source going on and off with the light... Is there any way to reset the ramps board? The physical reset bby xkylewrightx - General

I'm using the latest version of mac leopard (10.7.3?) and version 1.0 of arduino. I havent installed a FTDI driver either. In Arduino I have the correct board selected (Mega 2560) and the correct port (dev/tty.usbmodem411). After launching the Serial Monitor nothing is showing in it. I can change the baud rate, but nothing shows up in the output. Tried sending M115 and still nothing showed up iby xkylewrightx - General

Alright, after messing around with it I tried to upload sprinter firmware onto the ramps with arduino, either it was unnecessary or it screwed it up..? Either way it compiled okay but kept timing out during the upload, dont know if the firmware is screwed up now.. any tips?by xkylewrightx - General

Hello all- This is my first day trying to hook up a reprap with RAMPS 1.4 I purchased assembled. I am trying to connect it to my Macbook Pro, via USB. It seems to want to connect as a USB modem, and Repsnapper will not connect to it. What am I missing? Thanks in advance! Edit: More info...
