Well, I stand corrected then. That's actually very cool (the video). I wonder if the firmware I looked at before was just new, because I couldn't find anywhere in the code where it adjusted the x and y axis values to make up for the leveling. And I agree, if it didn't then it would kind of defeat the purpose of auto-leveling.by avdwege2003 - Reprappers
How many prints have you made since building your printer? Perhaps your z-nuts need to be replaced. I find that on my i3s, the nuts don't last very long, and I replace them about once a month. I don't have the same exact problem on my i2s because I use high-strength steel on both the rods and nuts, and the nuts last at least two years. But, for the i3 I can only find high-strength steel for tby avdwege2003 - Reprappers

Hello. What type of connection are you using between your rod and motor? Tubing? Aluminum couplers? One thing that it could be since your right rod seems okay is that perhaps your z-nut is sitting crooked in the x-end? Also, are your LM8UUs tight on the left side? The i3 uses M5 z screw, and the M8 smooth rods should be sufficient to hold the x-end in place, as long as the LM8UUs don't wiggby avdwege2003 - Reprappers
I have quite many printers, and use manual leveling on all of them. It's a pain, but once it's set it shouldn't change, unless/until you change something, and then you'll have to level again. I have adjusters on my z-axis which makes if very easy to get the z-starting position set. My opinion on auto-leveling is that it shouldn't ever be used. Here's why... Besides checking the teeth in your hobbed bolt, you could also make sure your extruder idler screws/springs are tight, but not too tight. You could take the hotend off, and the extrude some filament. Check how the teeth marks look in the filament that comes out. You should see clean, good teeth marks. If you don't see any, try tightening the idler block screws. But, if the filament looks squby avdwege2003 - Printing
I would check that your getting the correct voltage at the hotend when it's trying to heat. If you're getting voltage then you need to replace the heater resistor. If you're not getting voltage then check the voltage coming out of your ramps or whatever electronics. If you're getting voltage there, then your wiring is bad. If you're not getting voltage out of your electronics then perhaps theby avdwege2003 - Printing
Try running the .stl file through cloud.netfabb.com and see if you can then slice the fixed file. I use this all the time for stl files I pull from thingiverse, etc. and it usually does the trick.by avdwege2003 - Reprappers
Hello. Your electronics from a prusa i2 will work just fine for a i3 printer. However, you will probably need to adjust some items in the firmware that you choose to use. I have some i2s and i3s, and I remember needing to change things in configuration.h like the INVERT_X_DIR, INVERT_Y_DIR, INVERT_Z_DIR, and INVERT_E0_DIR. You'll also want to slow down the z-axis because it uses M5 rods insteby avdwege2003 - General
Hi Andreas. The ramps board is already set up to allow for two extruders. E0 is your first extruder, and E1 is your second extruder. I use marlin firmware, and in the configuration.h file you control how many extruders you have, using the following (at line 65 in mine): #define EXTRUDERS 2 You then need to use a slicing program that can also handle two extruders. I use slic3r and it works greatby avdwege2003 - General
Hi Rich. Have you found anyone to print these for you? If not, give me a shout. I would be happy to print these for you. I could do it for $7.00 + shipping. I'm in MN, so shipping would probably be only a few dollars. Anita 3dbotshack.comby avdwege2003 - Job Shop: I need stuff made!

Many thanks to everyone who purchased during our holiday special. We gave away more than 40 fan ducts and grills! We have also now modified the contents of our kits as follows: * 4 Y-Axis mounts and printed bushings are now included as standard (instead of 3 as specified on github) to take into account the many pre-made heated beds that require 4. * Greg's Hinged Extruder is now standard instby avdwege2003 - Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale

Hello Thomas. You can find information at the following sites for buying and building a printer. The kits I sell are all the plastic parts needed. You'll still need all the hardware (rods, bolts, nuts), electronics (motors, controller boards, power supply, switches, wiring), etc. If possible you should consider purchasing a hardware kit from someone like ultimachine.com. Hello Martin. My ebay site (please follow the link) explains all the details about my metric and SAE kits, but basically the extruder large gear, x-ends are sized for 5/16" nuts/bolts on the SAE kit. Its mainly geared towards people who are sourcing the hardware themselves and don't have easy access to the M8 hardware.
