I was going to make my own hot end when i started but after looking some things up i found that just getting one off line was the better way to go. i currently have a j-head .5 mm from hotends.com and its working grate! and for $55 its very worth it But if you really do want to make your own i would say having a 3.5 hole is not the way to go. you need your abs to be very snug in the shaft of theby Benjamin Engel - Reprappers
okay so i got the new j-head to replace my old end and its awesome! i got the .5 mm this time and my prints have been coming out grate! super smooth edges and the plastic is flowing out very well now. Best of all is that it has not melted on me. I've bin working with it at about 220 with absolutely nothing going wrong. Thank you every one for helping me out on this dont think ill be melting anyby Benjamin Engel - General
my printer had this same thing and when i switched around all of opto stops i found that i had a bad opto. thats what was making it go one way. because my printer thought it was always being blockedby Benjamin Engel - General
@djamwolfe i was printing on plexiglass and it does not stick very well. the ABS edges peal up, but if you cover it in paint tape and a thin coat of super glue ABS will stick grate! i dont know why but ABS loves old dry super glue. also plexiglass warps after time. i now have a piece of real glass so that it doesnt warp and it works grate. so the best cold bed is some thing hard that doesnt flexby Benjamin Engel - General

I'll post on here again oncby Benjamin Engel - General
My RepRap J-Head Mk-IV-B has melted for the second time now. Both times i have bin trying to print with black ABS plastic, I only ever get about one good print before some thing happens with this thing. It keeps getting all jammed. The hobbed bolt in my Wades extruder keeps ripping divots into my plastic because my tip has to much pressure built up in it (if i pull the plastic when extruding withby Benjamin Engel - General
