If I was to connect my Monoprice duplicator I3 to a motherboard from an Ender 3, what hardware changes would be required? Thanksby ntar827 - General
Asked this question a few months ago. My Monoprice printer has a Melzi board. Is it true that auto leveling cannot be added with a Melzi board? If true, what board is recommended as a replacement? If the recommended board will not fit in the printer control enclosure, I will get a larger box. Thanks Nickby ntar827 - General

Considering all of the previous comments, would a part made in an sla printer be safer? Could UV light be used to sanitize a part after use with food? Thanks Nickby ntar827 - General

Jinx Thanks for your response bu I found the problem. Embarrassed to admit that it was a loose cable.by ntar827 - General
REVISION Sorry to have to admit that I have found the problem. It was a loose connector. I have a Monoprice Maker Select (Wanhao). Tried to upgrade to Cura 2.6 and could not get it to work so I went back to Cura 15.4. Now the printer only prints in a very narrow strip along the plates left side (x+0). Any ideas? Thanksby ntar827 - General
Origamib Please expand on the use of a thermal fuse. Thanks Nickby ntar827 - General
Would like to build a fireproof/resistant enclosure for my printer. Anyone have plans? Thanks Nickby ntar827 - General
Extruders use springs and levers to maintain a clamping force on the filament between a bearing and gear. What clamping force should one try to obtain by compressing the spring? Thanksby ntar827 - General
Just finished building a printer of my own design. Nothing unique. The X-Y plane is fixed and Z is up and down. Height is gained by lowing the platform. I am using a Printrbot Rev D board and every time I start a print the platform goes up about 5mm. I would like the first movement to be down 5mm. Using Repetier Host and Slicr and have added G28 to start code. Do not know G code but have trby ntar827 - General
Assembled my printer and checked movement using Repetier.. X, Y and Z move but the extruder motor does not run. How do I test the extruder motor? Is there something that I can do to bypass the Repetier restriction on a cold extruder hot end? Thanksby ntar827 - General
Would like to add mechanical endstops to printer design. Printer board has three, three pin, terminals. How do I contol both directions for each axis with only three switches? Can someone provide a source for the switches with wiring and connectors included? Thanksby ntar827 - General
Purchased stepper motors and they came without end connectors. Where can I buy the four wire connectors required to connect to my circuit board? Thanksby ntar827 - General
cat.farmer How long have you been using the E3D Lite?by ntar827 - General
Understanding the temperature limits, is the E3D V6 lite as good a hot end as the much more expensive E3D V6? Thanksby ntar827 - General
Does anyone have a 3D file of the E3D V^ Lite hot end? Would like to incorporate it into a printer design that I am working on. Thanksby ntar827 - General
Has anyone built a CoreXY using fishing string instead of belts? Thanksby ntar827 - CoreXY Machines
Would not move all three directions at same time. Normal X and Y together while Z independently increments the height. Just wandering if moving the part causes problems with the print.by ntar827 - General
What are the cons of moving the part with a fixed extruder? Part would move in X, Y and Z directions. Considering 6-8 inches in each direction. Thanks Nickby ntar827 - General
What factors make the professional (expensive) printer produce better prints than those of the less expensive printers? What are the mechanical differences? Are there software differences? Thanks Nickby ntar827 - General
Repetier You are correct. Don't know how I missed that. Discovered incorrect setting this morning. Thanksby ntar827 - General
When I loade RH v.95 message about v1.0 being available. Downloaded and installed the new version and could get nothing to work. Uninstalled v1.0 and reinstalled v0.95. It works but models are not loaded at full scale. They come in at some very small scale. Not visible on screen but when I zoom way in I can see them. Any ideas? Thanks Nickby ntar827 - General
I have a OneUp printer with a 0.4mm nozzle diameter and 1.75 mm diameter filament. What is a good tip to bed clearance to strive for? Thanks Nickby ntar827 - Printing
From $200 on up to $1000 and more, what do you get for each jump in price that contributes to an increase in quality of prints? Do different printerboards contribute to quality? What are the mechanical features that are most important? Thanks Nickby ntar827 - General
I assume that my problem is with Slicr3. Prints first 2 or 3 layers completely then starts to print perimeter with no infill. Tried regenerating the STL file and reslicing but same problem. Funny thing is that it worked well on a part of almost identical sie and shape. Any ideas? Nickby ntar827 - Printing
Have to give praise where praise is due. I was one who was upset with the delivery issues (Paula) but I have to say that QU-BD made an honest effort to help me get my printer running. Their response was quick It turned out that the USB cable was bad. I now have a running but not calibrated machine. I hope that those of you still waiting for delivery will receive your printers soon and will haby ntar827 - General
Happy to let you all know that I found the problem. It was a bad USB cable. Thanks everyone for your efforts in trying to help me get my printer going. The reason I asked the question is because I have beeen wandering if this is what I should do. Holding back because of warnings about "bricking" the board. Is flashing the board a straight forward process? If I change the firmware, can I return to Repetier if that turns out not to be the problem?by ntar827 - General
