I ended up getting mine from reprap source and it is very good quality and fast shipping. Just need to find somewhere in the UK now for some good quality smooth rods! I just got some from china, which are supposed to be hardened and cnc quality, but they are not straight!by stu121 - General Mendel Topics
thanks for that, they do look very nice, I may have to order one of them shortlyby stu121 - General Mendel Topics

is there anyway easy way to use different settings for multiple stls? or combine separate gcodes with out having to mess about with a text editor? I was hoping to print a few bridge tests with separate settings for each one, rather than print individuallyby stu121 - Slic3r
I was thinking of trying one of these are you using 3mm filament?by stu121 - Printing
I will be interested in what you find best, I have been using 3000 accel for x and y for about 4 months now, print quality is mainly good, but I get more shaking than I would like, just turned mine down to 2000 with slicer 098 and seems to be shaking a lot less and print quality is no worse. I will probably try even lower for small parts.by stu121 - Printing
printing some 9t gears for extruder, while one side of the tooth looks ok, other seems too flat? using slicer 098 for top and bottom in photo and 072 in the middle. top photo is a herringbone gear which actually seems to print ok? printed with either 30 or 40 mm/s printed in abs at 230. have printed one a while ago in pla and the teeth looked much better? using prusa i2, acceleration at 3by stu121 - Printing

well in the end I got the jhead from reprap-uk on ebay, as I was feeling a bit impatient, The jhead looked fine at first, soldered it all up and came to fit into my wades to find it would not fit! although it is listed on ebay as 'All parts are precisely machined according to the original specifications' the peek is 16.6mm! I have sent a msg on ebay and he is blaming his supplier for sendingby stu121 - General
I have had 2 colours from them, the black was fine, but the green kept snapping. Have you tried using a fan? I use mine at 180-185. but I always use a fan with pla.by stu121 - General
yeah them on ebay look tempting, but I have decided to get one from hotends.com even with import charges it should be no more then £55 and I know I will have the best available.by stu121 - General
I would do but I am in the UK and will probably get charged £15+ import dutyby stu121 - General
thanks, they look good quality, but they don't have any listed on ebay right now, but have sent them a message. Still considering the one from reprap world as they are a bit cheaper and have lots of spares available?by stu121 - General
Hi, is anyone using a hotend from , they seems to be reasonably priced. I made the mistake of buying a jhead from china on ebay So looking for another now. hi guys in the end I rammed an allen key down the 3mm hole with the temp at 185 and eventually a big splurt of pla shot out and it was good again, I have now tighened the feed screws pretty much all the way like you said and it is much better. charlie can I ask if you just have yours mounted by the 2 vertical bolts or do you have 2 horizontal bolts fitted into the top also? I just have the 2 veby stu121 - General
hi, i have just got my mendel working today, I managed to print a 1cm cube badly, then on my second attempt nothing would come out of the hotend, after pulling the filament in and out a few times, I managed to get it stuck in the hotend. I am using pla at 185 with this hotend http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HotEnd-Fully-Assembled-and-Wired-FREE-Hobbed-Bolt-RepRap-3D-Printer-Hot-End-/280945250863?pt=by stu121 - General
hi, i have this hot end http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HotEnd-Fully-Assembled-and-Wired-FREE-Hobbed-Bolt-RepRap-3D-Printer-Hot-End-/280945250863?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item4169a4522f and a gregs extruder reloaded, i am just wondering the best way to mount it? if I push the hot end into the extruder it goes in to far to use the mount holes on the side, that go through the grooves inby stu121 - Plastic Extruder Working Group
I have just about got all my parts for my prusa now, but just looking at the smooth stainless rods i got of ebay, 2 of them seem a bit bent, when holding on a flat surface one end is about 3mm higher on the worst one. they are 900mm so might be a little better by the time I cut them down, just wondering if they will be any better when they are clamped into the frame? or should I just chuck themby stu121 - General Mendel Topics

Hi, has any brought a mendel from www.nextdayreprap.co.uk, originally I was going to try to source all my parts separately, but the thought of having everything in one parcel next day is very tempting. just wondering if anyone has used them and how they are getting on with it. Hi, have recently started looking into buying a mendel kit, It seems like the going price for the complete kit in the UK is £500 I am wondering if anyone could give me a rough price If I was to buy the parts seperately? would this be a big saving? Before spending a few hours finding the best prices for each seperate part, would I just be better off spending £500 if I am only going to save a feby stu121 - General
