Hi all Just finishing up a build of an AUS3D Mk2 printer. I managed to stuff up the Z offset and ended up with the nozzle hard in the bed and a clogged extruder. I should have that sorted shortly but wouldn't mind some newbie lessons/advice if there is a group running in Welly? Cheers Colinby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Yep, I've got the leading bid . How long are those leads screws?by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Tempting, there's a lot of stuff I need - but a lot I don't too.by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Howdy all After building my Mendel 90 a few years back (and then selling it on) I've just ordered an Aus3D Mark 2 kit from here. I've gone for the black frame kit as per the attached pic and will do a build log here when it arrives. I'm really looking forward to this build and Chris from Aus3D has already supplied great support during my decision making process. Colinby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks Dust, I might have to go the OB way - which would be a preference anyway to be honest.by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi all Does anyone know of a NZ supplier for the Misumi 2020 T slot? Failing that which of the numerous Misumi web sites do you use to order for shipping to NZ? Many thanksby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I've gone for the i3 Easy to get kits of parts and some local folks had a frame and extra stuff from a group project.by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Dang it the US dollar is dropping like a stone! Bad timing Probably still cheaper than most NZ suppliers though.by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Wow was just reading back through this old thread - it was so great to see the printer finally sorted and running! Would you believe I'm going to build another one just tossing up between another M90 and an i3 ...... stay tuned. Pete, hope you are still printing. Colin.by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
These look great! Can they be used with a regular ramps 1.4 setup? They look ideal to retrofit an existing printer with optical stops and auto-level!by 41southrap - For Sale
Hi all, great thread, just looking at getting one of these down to New Zealand. I previously scratch built a Mendel90 (printed parts supplied by Nophead) Cheers Colinby 41southrap - Prusa i3 and variants
Great info - thanks very much!by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Tim, any pictures of your build? Where abouts did you source the frame from - or did you make it from scratch? Cheers Colinby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Tossing up between the 2 builds of a Wilson TS or Prusa i3, I've previously built a Mendel90, so the i3 is certainly similar/familiar, but I like the beam construction of the Wilson. Has anybody in NZ tackled a Wilson or know of any gotchas? Support seems pretty OK for both Colinby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks for the info grael. I've got Mindkits to print it, they supply an on-line order service at a reasonable price and Tim the owner is a top guy Funnily enough the creator of the design recommends PLA where I would have thought that ABS would have been better too. I'll let you know how it goes! Actually just thinking out loud I might get them to some spare arms in ABS - they are cheap enougby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi all I've been a member of this forum for a while (I did the Mendel90 build 2-3 years back then sold it ) I'm wondering if anyone can do a smallish print for me or recommend someone? Many thanks Colinby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group

Hi all, long time no post. Unfortunately I never did get this project finished, so it's still sitting in the bottom of a wardrobe gathering dust. I wouldn't mind selling it as-is-where-is, I'm sure it won't take anyone much time at all to figure out the missing puzzle piece(s). My reason for selling? - a lack of momentum and financing another project. I'm very pleased that the build log wasby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I want one! Let me know when you have a kit finalised, might as well start building the "family".by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I have to say that I love your work!by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Watch out for that stuff, if the resistor outer fails you can end up with a short caused by the copper in it. I've seen comments in other parts of the forum about it.by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Well unfortunately my printer is still just a pile of parts sitting on the desk that does nothing. I really do suspect that the Ramps board is faulty so it's all coming apart today. Many thanks to Stubbienz for his help, emails and advice If anyone in or around Wellington has a spare hour or three (and/or a spare Ramps board!) to help me fault find this it would be much appreciated. I'm happyby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Welcome to the club Stubbie! What will you be making the frame out of?by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I think I need to finish my Mendel90 and sell it so I can fund building one of these beauties .by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks Mike, nice website, some good stuff there with reasonable pricing. I did buy some silicon heat transfer paste from Jaycar but have yet to try it out - maybe I'll skip it. The J head I have is a reasonable fit for the heater resistor anyway. I might measure the hole and see if your heater unit fits too.by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Merry Xmas NZ RepRappers May your stockings be filled with PLA and ABS Cheers all Colinby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
No I haven't, but I could probably delve back through the receipts. There was no kit when I started this, so it's been done from scratch. I'll be adding some of the kit features once I get these issues sorted and get it printing. I actually don't even know how much the nophead kit is.by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Slow progress due to a number of things - not the least of which is electronics "issues". I finally powered up the ramps board the other day and I'm now fighting with limit switches being wrong in some way and an X carriage motor that just sits there and hums no matter what I do with the current pot on the ramps board. These limit switches have me a bit beat. I've downloaded the mendel90 firmwareby 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Those XT60 connectors are great, I use them on my RC models too.by 41southrap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
