I haven't had time to have a proper look. But by the sounds of things I think it's still early days and the database is going to be updated. I'll have a proper look later and see if I can find some good stuff and will report backby keithCl - General
Just found this thought everyone might be interested. mobile.theverge.com/2013/8/30/4671828/3d-print-your-own-fossils-new-online-database Can't get the link working on my phone so you'll have to copy and paste. Sorryby keithCl - General
reprapworld.com is based in the Netherlands. they supply glow in the dark. I haven't tested it yet but I have ordered other filaments from them with no problems. they have decent prices. fabberdashery probably have better quality but their prices are quite high. let us know how it goes for you. would love to see pictures. good luckby keithCl - General
thanks for putting the time in everyone. can't wait to get a chance to read itby keithCl - General
Found this interesting article. I imagine this includes thingiverse. There were a few small changes with thingiverse after the 10million cash injection. Imagine how much could change after a 300million injection.....by keithCl - General

Thanks for bringing this thread back. I've been trying to fight abs warping for the past few weeks. This worked a treat first time round.by keithCl - General
tmorris9: I see that now. thanksby keithCl - General
transfers of screen printed? are any of the proceeds being donated to reprap for the use of their logo?by keithCl - General
cool i can be a bit blind sometimes. thank youby keithCl - General
this is fantastic. is there anywhere i can see more about this project? great job man!by keithCl - General
I've been using pronterface for the last few months but only for 1 extruder. I also have a reprappro mendel but it's mono colour. I gave repetier host a go but switched back to pronterface because that's what I was more familar with. I started to use slic3r to slice then I put it in to pronterface to print. the new version of slic3r can handle multiple extruders. I find it easier to use than skby keithCl - General
only just switched to Slic3r in the last few weeks. i had been using skeinforge for pla. Switched to slic3r because it seems to be a little easier to use/understand. Have you cleaned the glass with acetone before printing? this makes a huge differenceby keithCl - General
dimensions were very slightly off. i'm only working on fixing this now because it wasn't much of an issue till now. bought the kit from . Do you have a heatbed? is it getting hot enough?by keithCl - General
what are you printing with? is it abs or pla? i have a reprappro mendel too. pla sticks fine once the heat bed is set to about 55 degrees c, The abs at 100c wouldn't stick to the glass for me at all. Once i applied a layer of kapton tape the abs stuck to it (90c) so hard that i struggled to take the print off once it had finished. Reprappro mendel ltd sent out a roll of kapton with the kit I boby keithCl - General
I had been thinking about this. couldn't seem to find any Melzis for sale anywhere. Could I use my Melzi and a Sanguinololu to do this or would I need two Sanguinololus as well as the Melzi?by keithCl - General

only 3 left now I'll keep an eye on it. hopefully i'll get the money together before they close the kickstarter. thanks dudeby keithCl - General
Welcome and good luck with your project. Prusa mendel is a great choice. As is the Reprappro mendel. Don't have much experience with any other printer types. Metal printing would be fantastic if you guys could contribute to the guys already working on it. A multicoloured extruder with only one nozzle, one colour filament and a system to bring full colour would also be fantastic... Software toby keithCl - General
Thanks PeteD. There's only $300+$75(international shipping) kits left on the kickstarter Wouldn't be able to get that kind of money together for a while so all the kits will probably be gone by then. Might just start sourcing the parts for a Lyman myself and see how it goes. I can buy the parts as I go along instead of paying $375 up front.by keithCl - General
How's about a European source for pellets? Haven't found any myself.by keithCl - General
Thanks CraigRK. That's $250 for me over here in Ireland. Might try to save for the Lyman extruder. Has anyone tried the Lyman for themselves?by keithCl - General
anyone know where i can get instructions on how to build one?by keithCl - General
RepRapPro Mendel .35mm nozzle 1.75 filament When I bought my printer I was intending to use only PLA however after seeing the results of the acetone vapour baths I decided to go with ABS(ordered 2kg from reprapworld.com today) because I would like to make some items to sell. The finish from the vapour bath is what i am looking for to do this. Once I have a food safe nozzle set-up I'll orderby keithCl - General
Very nice Werner. Looks great. How much did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?by keithCl - General
saw that too dude. came here to see if anyone else saw it. i thought it was great to see them doing things on 3d printing. i was delighted to see the makerbot only got 3 G's out of 5. i imagine they might have been able to get better results out of all the machines with a little bit more calibration and know how as regards to operating one. It would have been great to see reprap as well but iby keithCl - General
I'd imagine it should work. looks kinda heavy though. might need higher spec motors. not sure but I'd also imagine a bit of tinkering with the firmware may be required. check out the IRC. you should get some good real time answers there.by keithCl - General
that is really cheap Pieter. where do you get your filaments from? is there a minimum order quantity or could I just order 1kg. how are the delivery costs? thanksby keithCl - General
