Not sure if this is exactly what you want.. But here goes anyway. Object 1 Pliers rack. Just got the idea a few days ago, I finally got sick enough of the pliers pile to do something about it. 20 minutes in Sketchup. 2 hours printing. Job done. A very welcome change from the jumbled pile of pliers and cutters on my workbench. The blue part is 3D printed, the base is an old 5.25 floppy disk bby Hamster of doom - RepRap magazine
Test prints. Prototype parts to see if ideas for bigger parts will work. Tablet stands. Can never have too many it seems. Self designed gubbins. The attached pic is a soldering vice I designed and built, and am quite proud of.. But as always, see loads of improvements I could make. It's way stronger than it needs to be. I also knocked up a handy little spool holder that is screwed to theby Hamster of doom - General
Don't forget to take what ever it is sitting on into account. Something many miss. All the isolation in the world will not help if you essentially have it sitting on a hollow box that resonates all the vibration into sound. For noise reduction..The bigger and heavier the table, the better it is. Thick MDF, chipboard, concrete.. All good. Avoid metal or thin wooden bench tops of any kind. Mby Hamster of doom - General

The VC boys are just getting as much stuff patented as they can, so they have something to sell off when they fold Makerbot in a few years from now. VC groups looove patents . Looks a much better solution than mine.. So for me to set the temp to 185, I'd type "M109 S185" into the terminal part of Pronterface yes? And will that persist across sessions?by Hamster of doom - General

Electronics enclosures. Brackets to hold various stuff. A few tablet stands so I don't have to carry them from one place to the other. And Octopusses. As good a method of checking settings with a new roll of plastic as any.. And I can compare the quality of a fairly complex shape with an earlier print fairly easily. You need to set it in a g-code file. My printer is the one from RepRAp Pro, and tney supply a custom setup. so if it is differnt on yours, then hopefully someone else will have the answer. Assuming you are using Skienforge as your slicer, it is in /skeinforge/skeinforge_application/alterations/ I use Linux, so if you are using a Windows install, I have no idea what the path would be. Start by counting the wires on the ribbon cable. You need 8 wires. If like mine, your cable is wider, split the extra wires off. You want the red stripe on the 8 wire ribbon. Keep the rest for connecting end stops and stuff. And remember to slide the heat shrink on before connecting the wires. It's easiest to work with one component at a time, and do all the hot end connections first. Then conby Hamster of doom - General
