Yeah I agree that resolution is a big limiting factor and really I never thought so much about products that were made exclusively with a reprap, but more so, reprap prototyped parts. And don't misunderstand me, I'm not looking to pirate or anything. Heck, I haven't even got a machine yet. Please share your links/pics/stories about the products that reprap allowed you to prototype and or market. I look at all the trinkets and widget posts too but I love to see those where someone had an idea, prototyped it, and took it to market regardless of the scale. The $500 budget isn't set in stone or anything. If I could start with an extruded or cabinet style printer, I would be ok with spending more money to get what I wanted the first time around. If I have to go with a different design then I would like to keep costs as low as possible with an eye on my second build. Thanks for the information on the heated vs unheated units.
