Chinese equivalents to Thingiverse - 7 years ago
I know that China has its own versions of many websites, Zhihu for Quora, Wechat for Whatsapp etc. So are there any 3d file libraries in China that are worth looking at? Do they have different designs to their western counterparts? Thanks in advance.by wenshidi - China + RepRap 用户组

Thanks Matt, that is a very kind offer. Even so, putting my book up on the wiki would be a little presumptious of me. After all, it is just a general book about 3D printing and not specific to repraps. Thanks for the offer though. I am starting to get some downloads on the Youmagine site. Also have you thought of including a function that allows users to search for parts or assemblies. I was thinking formats such as .prt .sldprt .asm .sldasm. These could then be used as building blocks for designers who wanted to create new products. A bit like lego for Solidworks....by wenshidi - Developers

Since I published a small ebook about 3D printing, aimed squarely at newcomers to the community, I have been getting more and more requests to do presentations and demonstrations, with and about my printer. To this end, I am planning to add a number of classroom type supplements to my next edition, so that others will also be able to show off their machines in educational settings. I agree that getting this technology into the hands of youngsters and students is essential. "While Makerbot have received a fair amount of negative press recently, it should not be forgotten that they have been heavily involved in solving Third World problems with third world ingenuity.
