There are other, larger heaters available. There is a silicon rubber one around. I am not in the position to find the link at the moment but the retailer is on these forums and usually puts a link on when people enquire. I haven't used it so I can't say how good it is. Hi I had side step in one of my prints, once. It coincided with the belt rubbing against one of the guides. I guess this this was causing the motor to skip. Could this be your problem also? Jamesby jamesncarter - Printing
Check your belts are tight, it could be backlash.by jamesncarter - General
Hi This happens on my Reprappro Mendel too. I assume as you move the carriage you are driving the motors. They act like generators. The fan is always in the circuit so the LED lights up. Jamesby jamesncarter - General
Hi, I think I understand what you are describing. It happened to me when I first set up my printer. Are your belts tight enough? Are you getting backlash? Jamesby jamesncarter - General
It worked, thanks :-)by jamesncarter - Printing
Ok, Thanks jbernardis. Here goes...by jamesncarter - Printing
Hi My nozzle caught on the object I was printing and made the X and/or Y motors slip. I caught it straight away and paused the print. Am I correct in saying entering the command G28 X0 Y0 Will reset the X and Y axis and allow me to resume printing? I have a RepRapPro Mendel Mono, it uses the Melzi board. The Gcode for the object was created using Kisslicer 1.1.0_rc2. Using the 5D Absolute E oby jamesncarter - Printing
Thanks Spk64 Tightening the x-axis belt partially solved my problem too. Also for anyone else who finds themselves with the same problem, my belt was rubbing against the mudguard washer as well. I moved the bearing it out a little using a couple more washers and my problem was solved. Cheers Jamesby jamesncarter - Printing
Hi Spk64 Did you solve your problem? Was it backlash? I think that I have the same problem. Please see the attached image. Can you help? Thanks Jamesby jamesncarter - Printing
Thanks for you thoughts bobc. I obviously need to think about what I am going to do. I have e-mailed the company I bought the kit from just to check that it isn't certified. I would be happy to do the paperwork if that is all it is required and to share this with the company and community. From what Nophead has said I suspect design mods and independent testing is required. I checked the cost ofby jamesncarter - General

Thanks for replying nophead. Mmm, that’s bad news for us. Is there are demand within the community to find out what is required and alter the most common designs so they do comply? I was thinking Prusa Mendel, Huxley, RepRapPro Huxley & Mendel etc. This will need to be done at some point if the “revolution” happens and they become commonplace. Jamesby jamesncarter - General
Link to the reference for the legislation. CEN Technical Body: Industrial thermoprocessing - Safety I guess the one that covers RepRaps is; Plastics and rubber machines - Extruders and extrusion lines - Part 1: Safety requirements for extruders Jamesby jamesncarter - General
Hi all My friend and I are considering selling on our jointly built RepRap to fund the purchase of two kits; one each. Does this then make us manufactures? Are we then obliged to fill in the paper work for CE Standard Certification? Or are the kits already covered? I started to read through the legislation, but thought that some-one may have already done this. Has anyone? Does anyone deal with tby jamesncarter - General
