Are the three 1/2" dia x 1" standoffs ceramic as electrical insulators just in case the heating elements shorts to the platen? As opposed to aluminum. Since the platen is screwed down to the base, how is planarity established with respect to the head? Can this be done in software calibration setup? Did you trim anything off of the 1000mm slides or use the full length? ...Chrissiby CozyGirrrl - General

Dear Werner, as an alternative to sharpening, if the filament passed through an annular coil, the coil heats up and the filament is is evenly heated locally and pulled it should stretch and taper, coils cools then a little blade snaps out and cuts the filament... another project, lots of hardware, a PLC =)by CozyGirrrl - General

Thank you Sanjay for the speedy and detailed reply! Love the concept. I sympathize with the multiple head prototyping issues; not just a matter of cramming three or four bowden heads in a small space. Nozzle planarity would be critical I guess. ...Chrissiby CozyGirrrl - General
