I am aware this thread is old but I stumbled upon it when trying to get my spherebot working. My setup is similiar to those above (a mix of and with the arduino firmware ). I am using an arduino nano clone and had the same problems with the feeder script (pyhon, processing etc.) hanging as described above, not working at all or only intermittently. Well, it turned out to be an electrical problby Stemer114 - General
Quoteprashantdshinde @ Stemer114... how do you control the temparature using slicer/extruder software?? I am using RAMPS1.4, built a seven switch but I am not sure from where to take the +12v supply..... from RAMPS D8 or ext PSU? the heatbead temperature is monitored via the second thermistor input of sanguinololu board, therefore it can be controlled without any configuration changes and shouby Stemer114 - Sanguino(lolu)

Well, strange as it may sound, my setup initially required both: running the sanguinololu without and with 5V USB (at different times) - hence, the adapter and not the cut trace. Without 5V USB: sanguinololu connected to its own power supply running in the reprap connected to a headless raspberry pi - in my basement with no monitor or PC around. With 5V USb: the bare sanguinololu taken out of tby Stemer114 - Sanguino(lolu)
Well, maybe that wasn't mentioned in the original post, but of course the ground pins need to be connected. Only V+/5V is disconnected. See attached pictures (the red wire is only used as a pointer in the photo).by Stemer114 - Sanguino(lolu)
Hi guysoft, I have tried both, connecting the reprap directly to the raspberry pi and via the hub to the raspberry pi using the customized usb connector, and both worked. However, right now I am using the reprap with a dedicated PC. My only raspberry pi is used as nfs server, media server etc. and when mediatomb was running I kept getting performance problems. Besides, printerface was too tedioby Stemer114 - Sanguino(lolu)
Well, I had to wait until Friday till I could start the 6+ hours printjob for the x motor bracket (only running at 20mm/s..). But it worked out quite well. Both the bridging and the corner shells gave good results. After all, I am printing on a wooden repstrap with a drill-and-file hotend..by Stemer114 - Mendel90
Hello nophead, thank you very much for the explanation. That makes it clear. What is more, thank you very much for making your mendel90 files available via github. (Having come via the diy/repstrap route buying the complete kit was not an option here) It is really amazing what amount of work must have been put in there. Hello, having built myself a wolfstrap based repstrap I am now in the process of preparing to rebuild my working but clumsy printer to become a much nicer and better Mendel90. So far, I have downloaded, configured and compiled the mendel90 files (sturdy) from latest github and printed almost all of them - except the x motor bracket. Now I have a couple of questions I am stuck at and after havingby Stemer114 - Mendel90
To follow up on this: Connecting the heat bed via PB4 freed up the original heat bed connection and its 4-pin header, which I have used to connect two 40mm cooling fans for slic3r/firmware-controlled cooling the workpiece while printing. This has been running now for a couple of weeks and seems to be working well, as I have gone from printing blobs, then calibration objects, then spare gears (juby Stemer114 - Sanguino(lolu)
OK, for anyone interested, following Traumflugs suggestion I had a look at the schematic and selected the PWMPB4-pin (on the extension pin header) on the Sanguinololu and connected it (and ground) to the sevenswitch signal input. Then I adjusted the DEFINE_HEATER for the bed to PB4 in teacup firmware config.h and flashed the firmware. I hoped this was safe because PB4 doesn't use timer1, althoughby Stemer114 - Sanguino(lolu)
I have a Sanguinololu 1.3a. For connecting the heat bed (PCB Mk2) I have built a seven switch using the pcb from Traumflug, because apart from the dimensioning of the mosfet and the connector I was a little bit concerned about routing the heat bed current through the sanguinololu board at all. Now, the seven switch just needs the (pwm) signal for the heat bed and ground. The obvious solution wouby Stemer114 - Sanguino(lolu)
I am new to this and in the process of building a prusa with sanguinololu 1.3 as printer controller, using a raspberry pi as host controller. When checking the wiki, I came across the usb 5V bug mentioned on http://reprap.org/wiki/Sanguinololu#Bugs The solution mentioned there and googled elsewhere (desoldering the 7805 or cutting the 5V track) seemed a bit drastic for my brand new controller boby Stemer114 - Sanguino(lolu)
