Okay, so I have a bit of a request. I really do prefer the Orion module over any other Z-Probe however it is kind of hard to setup with dual hotends. I was looking at the E3D Chimera and see the solution for that but I already have a few E3D V6 hotends lying around that I could pair into a dual bowden setup so I hate spending the extra money on a Chimera when I can use what I already have. Honestly, I was using gyroid because a few people recommended it as being good for strong prints but if it's not the best option then I'll switch. I didn't notice the problem with other patterns. I'll be putting brass nut inserts into the PETG so I was looking for a fill pattern that would be best for that. I'm using 4 perimeters to help give me stronger prints and give more for the nut plates toby p40whk - Slic3r
Large gaps in infill on random layers - 5 years ago
Hopefully this is just something I'm doing wrong in my settings but Slic3r will leave large gaps in the infill on random layers. When I examine the 2D layer by layer I notice that it doesn't fill some areas of the model on some layers. Rotating the part fixes it for that layer but the dead spots show up in other layers. I noticed this while printing and not sure how to fix it I'm printing PETGby p40whk - Slic3r

Question regarding the Orion in a Bondtech BMG Extruder; Normally, with just the E3d V6 in the BMG, you remove the bowden coupling from the E3D and insert a length of PTFE tube in the E3D so that 5mm is protruding (see the 30 second mark of this video) Since the Orion is being inserted into the BMG, is the procedure the same? If the HE fan is running, try stopping it when homing - though I have no problem with mine, but my gantry is stopped since the bed moves. Initially, the movement of my gantry during XY home triggered mine even though it didn't start until XY was finished.by p40whk - General

So I have spent hours trying to get my sensor tuned with no luck. I had initial success when I first set it up but the sensor will either false trigger or push too hard into my bed, I cannot find any middle ground and I am making the most minute adjustments on the pots. I don't know if it's the actual mechanical setup that I have (pics below) or if it's operator error or if it's just the sensor.by p40whk - General

Question regarding tuning; I'm using the Piezo with your beta Titan Aero setup with the Piezo between the motor and the X-Carriage. My setup is a modified Prusa i3 with dual Z-motos running Duet Wifi 2. I have been able to get the probe to work perfectly as a Z-endstop as well as performing the auto Bed Compensation probing however, it's too sensitive during X-Axis moves and the probe triggersby p40whk - General

You are a life Saver! That fixed it! So the I1 command makes the Duet see the input as an Active High I'm guessing? I'm still new to the Duet and trying to learn a bit more of the coding. Thanks for the help, much appreciated!by p40whk - General

Need a little help as I'm baffled My Duet Wifi 2 is seeing the probe as always triggered I've got everything set up and have tuned my probe per the tuning instructions (universal V2.75) I have the Signal from the Piezo going to the following pins in my duet: SIG to the Z_Probe_In GND to GND V+ to +3.3V With the red LED illuminated, the Duet shows it as triggered with a value of 1000 (see picby p40whk - General

I've read through many of the posts on this thread but did not see what I'm looking for. Is there a way to test the Piezo setup without being connected to a printer board (like my duet)? My setup will use this method: sensor between a nema 17 motor and the carriage however I'm still setting everything up on my Duet and am not ready to add power just yet. Thanks for the info TDD! I found a decent Youtube video of someone walking through the setup and it didn't look to difficult. Duet How To So I'll start without the Panel Due and see how I like it. Good to know that it isn't a requirement. I can't remember which power supply I have but do think it may be a 24V PSU, will have to check when I get home but I had seen some people set their machinesby p40whk - Duet

So I have a Makerfarm Pegasus 10 which is a modified Prusa and I've been happy with it but not so happy with the hoops I have to jump through for every little upgrade with the Marlin Firmware. I have been struggling to add BLtouch to it and get it working properly so I got frustrated and it sat for 2 years! I downloaded it on November 27th, it's version 1. I followed the instructions in the read me file from Github (linked in the first post of this thread) to set it up. I have a MakerFarm i3 that has been runing with older firmware and I have a second i3 which I just built and loaded the new Marlin software. I'm not sure what my problem is but I can't seem to get this to work. I've changed my Config.h file (attached) to mirror what other's have done but it's only probing 2 locations prior to printing and when the print starts the nozzle doesn't lower to the bed and just prints in the air. Not sure if it's in my config.h or config_adv.h file or if I have my G-code wrong. Could someone help me out wby p40whk - General Mendel Topics

Could someone help me straighten out my code please? I've got everything hooked up but it wants to operate backwards; When I issue an M401 it wants to raise the probe instead of lowering it, an M402 will lower the probe. I didn't think this was an issue until I issued the G28 gommand and the probe raised and had I not pressed the microswitch by hand I would have had a hard nozzle crash into theby p40whk - General Mendel Topics

I'm using 1.75mm and a direct drive extruder and have not seen the same problem you are having. I'll have to go home and look at what the steps are set to but I'm using this Extruder with a MK7 drive gear. My filament comes from Toybuilderlabs.com. I did have to turn up the driver to get the extruder to operate smoothly but other than that, no issues. I just got done printing the parts for the Aby p40whk - General

Is it worth it to pay for the "Pro" upgrade? I don't have dual extruders and the list of extra features doesn't mean that much to me accept multiple objects: Multiple Objects Load as many STL files as you wish. All objects will be automatically packed onto the bed. You can Export the composite STL of the packed objects. Multi-Head Printing You can pick a different extruder foby p40whk - General
