I have a wades extruder made by rustyspoon, and have NO problems with it at all!!! it seems to be a very good setup... (I just wish i could say the same for the hot-end) as for the z travel.... I can go from 0 to 55 or 60mm with no problem... it seems to clear the frame OK! (using a standard hot-end.. unless if you use a longer hot-end) cheers MB edit: typo'sby Mdbaughman2 - Plastic Extruder Working Group

ok, I recently purchased extra thermistors from Ultimachine and am having trouble getting the python script to work... mainly because i don't know python or how to use the script... i cant seem to get it to execute properly on my windows machine. I'm not a programmer. so I'm kinda stuck... so I am hoping that someone would be kind enough to make me a thermistor table, or explain how to useby Mdbaughman2 - General

I need the E_STEP_PER_MM value for Wades Extruder...? Thanx MB Edit: oh and how many degrees per step is your motor.... mine is 1.8 oh and my nossle is 0.5mm If your setup differs i can do the math... i just need a base setting... your nossel size and motor's degree spec... I am currently working on documentation for the TechZone Remix Electronics set.. I also started a FAQ page that is in need of FAQ's or Facts.... oops I was going recommend something you already seen...... what i'm planning is to use a stepper board to drive the extruder... I already tested it... just waiting for the 4th stepper boadr to arrive... plus I/m upgrading to a wades extruder...by Mdbaughman2 - Controllers
Right now the current "Hot" extruders are "Wades" and "Adrians".... But I've also seen people say that their MK2 is the more reliable.. so i guess its all a matter of opinion.... EDIT: oh and yes you will need another stepper motor...by Mdbaughman2 - Reprappers
the idea i see is, it to have a storage "place" on both the left and right of the upper frame rails... Leaving the center open... tool change... ---printing 1 the carriage will raise off the print 2 the carriage will center, then the z will rise to the top of the frame.. 3 the carriage will slide left... sliding toolhead into its holder... 4 carriage unlocks toolhead (to be figured out) 5 carriaby Mdbaughman2 - General Mendel Topics
Ok maybe 6 is a little much... but i think 4 could happen... since only one tool-head cluster is stored.. at a time...by Mdbaughman2 - General Mendel Topics
I think that was the original tool change idea... just that the stored extruders are supposed to attach to the upper frame rails... that would work if we could figure out a lock/unlock mechanism... for the carriage and the storing points! i was thinking on the upper side of the extruder, it would slide into its storage holder via the X axis... then unlock from carrage some-how, drop the z fby Mdbaughman2 - General Mendel Topics
