My Z-axis is having a spot of trouble. I'm retrofitting RAMPS to my Makerbot Cupcake, and this is the last bit I need before it works. If you're looking at the front of the machine, the Y-MIN endstop is at the back, the X-MIN endstop is on the right, and the Z-MAX one is near the top. The X and Y ones work just fine, the problem lies with the Z-homing. I issue the command, and Z homes first tby Morpheus - Firmware - mainstream and related support
My Z-axis is having trouble of a different sort. I'm retrofitting RAMPS to my Makerbot Cupcake, and this is the last bit I need before it works. I'm running the default settings for the printer itself. Some guy already found all the right values for a BFB extruder, and I'm using those for now. Regardless, minimum RPM is minimum RPM, right? Even cranking it up to 60rpm minimum brought no visible change. I'm guessing it's either a problem with Marlin or Kisslicer, maybe the communication between the two, but I honestly have no idea where toby Morpheus - General
I've got a BitsFromBytes Rapman, and I'm working on converting the accursed thing into a Darwin. I've replaced the BFB electronics with the RAMPS 1.4 from gadgets3d, the latest version of Marlin as my firmware, and I'm running KISSlicer as my Gcode generator. So far, I've got all the systems online, in terms of operation. The cartesian robot works beautifully, the hot end heats and measures likby Morpheus - General
You were right, I found the answer on the forums fifty seconds after I posted this. Had to switch it from BFB to 5D Absolute E. Got the motor running, at least, but the newest problem is that it's slow. It's only pulling one or two revolutions a minute, except when it's retracting filament. The BFB original Rapmen would retract and then re-extrude when it had to make a lengthy jump in the model,by Morpheus - RAMPS Electronics
I've got the Ramps 1.4, off of gadgets 3d. I'm running the latest Marlin on it, and I've got that all set up. The problem lies with KISSlicer, my slicing software, I suppose. The temperature works, the commands work fine, everything's bright and shiny. Including the extruder, when it's manually controlled. The problem comes in actual prints. The three steppers for the Cartesian robot work justby Morpheus - RAMPS Electronics
I'm running a set of RAMPS 1.4 off of an ATX power supply. It's driving a Rapman 3.1, what's left of it at least. I'm trying to get the RAMPS to interface where the old electronics did, with the exact same configuration. And having absolutely no luck. I'm working on homing right now, and I've been able to get the X and Y to home nice and smooth and quiet. Then it's Z's turn and it just twitches,by Morpheus - RAMPS Electronics
Okay, I'll keep a Z axis that fulfills the reqs. I want to use a foldable arm that folds into a bullet-shaped tube, and unfolds. Servo controlled, worm gears locking it to prevent transfer of energy. No, I tried OpenScad. But I got my CAD teacher to land me an educational version of AutoCAD Inventor, which can export the STL's. w00T!by Morpheus - General
Yeah, I checked for free STL plugins on google. They say I need to have pro. Any CAD stuff works, as long as it can save or export as an STL, right?by Morpheus - General
Okay, I'm new, but I just got my BfB Rapman. I want to start designing stuff while I wait for it to get here, but I've tried all of the CAD things listed in the wiki under software, and I don't get any of them. I'm familiar with sketchup, as well as Autocad Mechanical, but I can't get skeinforge to take either format (or any at all really.) Assume I know nothing. Please help me get software and sby Morpheus - General
