On Monday afternoon I saw the future! Ian arranged a visit for meto the local RepRappro factory to swap my Duet with the wrongly mounted resistors and he demonstrated the replacement board talks to Pronterface via Lan. Thanks Ian. I saw the factory at work..lovely packing ladies and Sally and many other workers and about 20 Mendels breeding or laying Ormerod eggs. One self replicating machine iby pault - Ormerod
@Ray Hicks You are quite right. I crossed my wires on R numbers. However I am now convinced that R60 and 61 are mounted incorrectly. I can see the silk screen markers underneath at 90 degrees to the Rs. Clearly this will f$£%-up the A4403 s operation. I am awaiting Ian's permission to remove and remount these correctly so they will conform to the layout drawing. Only then will we know if theby pault - Ormerod
Duet now removed for close inspection, generally looks well made. R60 is a two part resistor in parallel, both 0R1 so not measurable on board without special kit. Most important the pair are mounted at right angles to the layout diagram. Either pcb tracks have been altered or they are mis-placed. Please can Ian check if the board actual layout or diagram is correct. It looks feasible for anyby pault - Ormerod
More tests as promised: When using 12v input to Duet and external NO loads, still no 5v generated and current input is 4mA. Using USB input at measured 4.75v in current load is 320mA...seems reasonable but still no ethernet lights. As others are finding the 5v buck ic is not working for some reason and there maybe a separate problem with the ethernet.by pault - Ormerod
More tests on this Duet following advice from RepRap's Ian: Thanks for speedy response to this. Look at the Duet schematic. It clearly shows reverse 12v is protected by a diode.by pault - General
Further to this. Meter shows 12v present but no 5v on Duet. I have downloaded the duet schematic and layout drawings, together with the data sheet for Buck regulator ic A4403. These indicate that to get the 5v supply running a jumper should be fitted to either JP9 to enable this regulator source or to JP10 to get 5v from ATX PSU. This latter seems irrelevant as only 12v is connected from suppliby pault - Ormerod

Ormerod Mechanical build of No 31 completed...near 20 hours. Tool list is very incomplete, probably better not to include this unless it is 100%. Oops I thought this would go in the Ormerod from RS section. So manually moved to there.by pault - General
