Yes an xbox power brick can run a reprap with no problem. Yellow wires are 12v+, black is ground, and your have to connect red and blue to turn the power supply on. I connected a kill switch between red and blue. Beemn running my mendel now for 3 years on the same power supply.by 2robotguy - General
How is your reprap Pro going? Do you have the single or multiextruder?by 2robotguy - Savannah, Georgia - RepRap User Group
All, Who else out there has a Reprap, makerbot, or a Repstrap? I have moved to the Savannah area from Atlanta with a large user group. When will makerbot release all of the build files for the Replicator? They did post some information here I would not consider this open source on the hardware side. Will they release the injection molded parts as well?by 2robotguy - General
A typical print is 75mm x 75mm x 25~40mm. Bigger is better and I would suggest a wide 400mm x 200mm x 200mm working area for a single extruder. This build area would drop to some to 300mm x 200mm x 200mm with a dual extruder setup.by 2robotguy - General
Could somebody point me in the right direction to find the same pneumatic fitting on the emaker huxley?I have found ones with blue plastic tops, but the emakers ones look longer and all metal. Thanks Markby 2robotguy - General
Also Scara require Servos not steppers to drive them. (Servo= any type of motor+encoder) Adding two joints makes homing the machine harder as well. The machine needs to know exact center to be able to convert Gcode into arm movements.by 2robotguy - General
Reprap mendel Running of Batteries powered but the sun. This Reprap Mendel is Running Ramps 1.3 with SD card add-on allowing it to to print without a computer plugged in. More information about the Electronics can be found @ Ultimachine.com Printing with biodegradable PLA made from Corn using only Sun power. I know of only one other 3D printer printing with the sun & sand , but not FDMby 2robotguy - General
One surplus Bazooka used + PVC PIPE + 3D Printer = Dangerous Fun The 3D printed parts held up very will with each launch. 3D printers make unique projects fun and easy for makers. Why build it yourself, when a robot can do it for you? Thingiverse First test video:by 2robotguy - General
Jamesdanielv, If you are referring to , this is not the one I'm talking about. (But very cool machine) I have been through every Repstrap link on the website you provided, still cant find this video. Thank, Mark Fullerby 2robotguy - General
A while back I stumbled onto this Video of a person that was building a Unique Repstrap Design. This is what I remembered about the Video: *His design Used U Channel Aluminum that was press fitted into the Plastic *Most of the moving parts rolled on the U Channel Instead of smooth rods *Plastic in the Video was Black and I think Printed on a Makerbot *The Y Axis of the machine was supported withby 2robotguy - General
Does anybody know where I could order some of the Ultimaker parts from? I'm looking for: Timing belt from the Nema 17 to the shaft (X&Y) Open ended timing belt (600mm +) Timing pulley they use for the motor Timing pulley they use for the 8mm shaft Bushing for all the bars. Any help is better than no help :-) Extra question, does moving to T2.5 instead of T5 increase resolution in theby 2robotguy - General
In 3 months I have used 20 lb of plastic. Printed 5 PRUSA and alot of extra parts for people and myself. The rolls go by fast. Darn you thingiverse....hahaby 2robotguy - General
galaxyman7 I'm setup to extrude 1.75mm right now. I'm located in the states. How much could I get?by 2robotguy - General
Very interesting! I just added my machine to the list! I think people that have makerbots should always name there machine and include their number. Hope other people join in! Markby 2robotguy - General
Morrist, That would be very interesting to do. Really the quality of your prints has a lot to do of quality of your parts. (Thats not to say some "Ugly" machines have made some beautiful parts) My think is: Better parts=> easier assembly=> Less problems & headaches=> Good quality parts Possibly the from of the card could tell pedigree and the back would say key points aboutby 2robotguy - General
8 months ago I bought parts from Adrian when they were going for $400+ I have been recently selling kits that include a certificate of lineage tracing my parts back to the original Darwin. I think it is interesting where parts came from. I wonder how many children are from the original Darwin compared to makerbot prints. I add the card as novelty and personally think it does not matter whby 2robotguy - General
Cyborg527, I sell Prusa parts locally. I also have two sets available for sell right now. My parts are of the highest quality and come with a 90 day warranty. With any profit I make I put it back right into my own reprap research. Here is my most recent set sold You can email me at Robotguy@bellsout&by 2robotguy - Atlanta, Georgia RepRap User Group
Reprapers, I have been looking online for the filament supplier gear with no luck. Does anybody know of a similar gear as this one for a 3mm d shaped shaft? Could this possibly be custom made for this application. I would think this gear is used in other application but cannot find a source. Possibly for moving raw materials in an assembly line or moving fabric? I haveby 2robotguy - General
Redbeard, That's correct. On the board itself only has 5 capacitors, headers, and a handful of resistors. When I blew two pololu all I had to do was pop the bad one off and the good one on. About a minute fix and I was printing again. I'm running with Linn Nema 17 steppers and have found they make the Pololu run hot. I would always suggest to put heat sinks on your Pololu and have aby 2robotguy - General
All, What a great turn out! Open source 3D printer is booming in the ATL. I was unable to give my information out to everybody and if I spoke to you about Selling you Prusa mendel Parts please email me back. I'm currently working on a spread sheet for all the parts needed for a Prusa mendel and sources to buy them. I would like to find around three people that would buy Prusa parts and I can getby 2robotguy - Atlanta, Georgia RepRap User Group
PLA is great! Printed three sets of mendel parts with it no problem. UV PLA is also very fun to print it. Some UV LED and looks really cool at night! Highly recommend Ultimachine PLA as well as RAMPS shield. Unlink Gen 6 electronics, The arduino Mega has extra pin out for later kits. Also if you blow a stepper all you have to do is pop and new on one, 10 second fix compared to soldering for a couby 2robotguy - General

Are you looking for the Mendel Parts? If so you can download them in almost ant format from Just search for REPRAP or mendel, I unloaded them all a couple of months agoby 2robotguy - General
I watched a couple of videos online and Somebody said 10 X 10 X 12 cm. Thing-O-Matic is just an upgraded Cupcake it seems like. Its really cool to be able to print something 4" X 4", but what if you wanted something bigger? I really don't want to glue my parts together. I think the magic Size for a 3D printer is 200 X 200 X 200cm.by 2robotguy - General
