I'm trying to set up dual extruders on my AZTEEG X3 board. I keep getting this error. Error:Heating failed, system stopped! Heater_ID: 1 Error:Heating failed, system stopped! I installed my new DRV8825 boards today. I calibrated the firmware so I could use the 1/32 stepping. Individual axes seem to work fine. When I try to do a print, the thing just stops. It's like it loses power or something but I used a meter and there was no drop in power. I've been printing with this board and the older driver boards for a while now. It description said it was a drop in rby bbriggstkd - General
That makes a lot of since. I built an Adapto. So I need to work on controlling the Z wobble. I put something at the top of the threaded rod to try to control the wobble. Guess I need to work on that.by bbriggstkd - General
I can't seem to get rid of the ridges in walls of my prints. The ridges show up on a very regular basis. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the problem. Extra Shells, printing faster, printing slower, increasing and decreasing the flow on the perimeter. Increasing and decreasing the temperature. Adjusting lash, infill overlap. Nothing seems to make much difference. Anyone have aby bbriggstkd - General
I'm using Marlin and am getting pretty good results except when an object has thin walls. I don't get good infill . I'm printing with 90% infill and have 10 solid layers set. If there is a wide solid surface, the infill is fine. I think it has something to do with acceleration. I don't think the extruder has time to get up to speed on short runs. I've tried all kinds of acceleration settingby bbriggstkd - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Looks like I have this resolved. Thanks to everyone who responded to my question. (I posted it in the general section also) I kind of feel foolish. I had tried adjusting the pots wheel to adjust the power to the motors even before I posted the question. Since some people responded with stepper/power issues, I took another look. I'm just setting up this new printer. I have a Ramps 1.4 board with Marlin. The Y and X axis seem to be running fine when I move them through Pronterface. or with a simple G Code file, moving X and Y in a 100mm square at faster and faster rates. When I start a print it starts our ok but not too far into the first layer, the X and Y axis just start to jitter. It starts moving with small quick moby bbriggstkd - General

I'm trying to tune a new printer (Adapto design). I'm just printing the 20mm cube to start calibrations. I've got infill set to .95 so it's pretty solid. The strange thing I'm seeing is the infill overlaps the perimeter. I have 0.0 set for overlap in the infill tab. I'm using Skeinforge 45 with Marlin firmware. My other printer has to opposite problems. Even with overlap and lash set, someby bbriggstkd - General

I'm having a couple problems with my new printer that I think are releated to acceleration, but I'm not sure. This new printer has different electronics and firmware (Marlin) than my other one. I still trying to figure out how acceleration works so I may be wrong. I have it turned off on my old printer. 1. At the start of the perimeter, I'm not getting good flow rate. Since I'm not an engineer, I'm not sure I followed what you are expaining. My background is in programming. Let me see if I understand this. You are saying that you don't want much difference between the width and height of the extusion to be very different, just a bit squished, so that there is no dramatic difference between a supported layer and extuding into air. Is that correct? I assumeby bbriggstkd - Skeinforge
As I understand it, the bridge setting allow you to change the speed of the print head and adjust the flow on the layers where the bridge starts. The first layer that spans a gap. If I remember correctly, it reverts back to normal settings after a layer or 2. It helps to eliminate some of the sagging you sometimes get with a big gap.by bbriggstkd - Skeinforge
I've been having a problem with bridge settings. From my testing it looks like verstion 44 was the last version that changing bridge settings actually made changes to the Gcode. I haven't found any topics about it here, maybe I'm searching in the wrong place. I haven't been printing in a few months so I may just be behind on versions or something. Does anyone know if the bridge settings havby bbriggstkd - Skeinforge

Checking my Gcode file. There is not change in speed from pre bridge layer to bridge layer. Am I missing somethings to activate the bridge settings?by bbriggstkd - Skeinforge
I've been trying to work on bridging but I can't seem to get the bridge settings to work. I have solid layers at 3. Bridge feed rate at 0.1 and bridge flow set to 25. I have those numbers so extreme just to see the affect. I'm using skeinforge 46. There is no noticable difference if feed for flow when it is printing a bridge layer. I'm getting pretty good quality from my printer but the color of the object seems to be a bit dull. A friend of mine has a printer and we have been using plastic off the same spool but his color is much richer than mine. I've tried adjusting the temp. I've tried several time with a range of 12 or 15 degrees but it doesn't seem to make a differenance in the color. When I extrude in the air, thby bbriggstkd - General
Does anyone have a template for the Prusa Thick sheets? I can't seem to find one. I saw the dimensions on the build site but that doesn't give instructions on where to drill the holes. Does it not really matter?by bbriggstkd - General
I'm using mulitply to print multiple copies of the same part. If multiply always works in the "nearest" fashion, that is what is happening. I thought it was supposed to work for the multiply option. Thanksby bbriggstkd - Skeinforge
I deleted the profiles and reentered the settings. It is still just running as if "nearest" was set.by bbriggstkd - Skeinforge
Is that really the solutions, delete and reenter everything? Is there some way to print it off?by bbriggstkd - Skeinforge
I may be doing something wrong but I have "Lower Left" selected but it is always just using "Nearest". I'm using version 40 of skeinforge. I've done some searches but can't find any information on bugs in that part of the code or anyhing. Does anyone have any insight?by bbriggstkd - Skeinforge
I have the first layer flow and feed set to 0.4 with the overall speed set to 15. The only way I could get things to stick was to change the first layer perimeter flow to 0.7. My layer height is 0.2, I'm going to try 0.25 to see if that helps. I read somewhere that skeinforge numbers may be off with layers of 0.2. The perimeter is consistanly sticking now, I just need to get the infill to stiby bbriggstkd - Skeinforge
I"m still struggling with settings. If I can get my first layer to stick there is too much plastic and it creates ridges in the infill. If I get the infill looking good, it won't stick.by bbriggstkd - Skeinforge
