Hi everyone, there is an inside 3d printing confrence near where I live and I was curious if it would be worth attending or not, I am quite familiar with 3d printing, have have built a printrbot, prusa i2, and and now building one from scratch. Would it be helpful or interesting for me to go to it?by GrantGabrielson - General
There are no USB ports only bluetooth.by GrantGabrielson - Printing
Thank you very much, I'll try that. What would cause a short? I have been carefull to keep metal pieces off of it, and only touch it when the power is off.by GrantGabrielson - Printing
Quotecat.farmer did you reboot the pc? Yes, I rebooted. I Also tried a different power supply. The power supply is on indicated by the fan on the power supply moving. Then, when I connect the molex connector to Ramps, it shuts off the power supply. I have to cut power to the PSU and plug it back in to get the fan to spin Any Help?by GrantGabrielson - Printing
I have been using a Printrboard for the last 7 months and I just got a new printer with Ramps 1.4. It had been a fairly minor shift, with nothing that difficult to learn. I have had the printer fully working for the last two weeks or so. Yesterday, I did my tenth print, everything went fine with the print. I left it on the build plate for about an hours, I took it off, the part looked great.by GrantGabrielson - Printing
Sorry, I mean in the polyester resin. Thanks!by GrantGabrielson - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Hi, I'm not sure if this thread is still active, but if it is will someone please tell me if I put in just one or both of the components, this may seem like a silly question. The way I see it, if I put in just one the resin components probably won't work, but if I put both in within a matter of minutes it will begin to harden. Or do the other ingredients prevent it from hardening until it comesby GrantGabrielson - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Hi, I'm 15 years old and just launched a kickstarter campaign for my phone case with interchangeable attachments. I am going to manufacture it using 3d printing, I have factored 1200 dollars of my goal to go towards a flashforge creator. I picked this one because it has a dual extruder and reasonable print volume for manufacturing at a small scal. However, I just saw the reprapro tricoulor menby GrantGabrielson - General
Hi, I've had a Printrbot simple for about 6 months now and I am starting to have some issues, My Y axis does nothing when under manual control, it only moves when being homed. However, the strangest thing happens when I start the print. It reaches temp, homes the axis, then the E axis goes extremely fast, the Y doesn't move at all, and the X moves just a tiny bit. I have reflashed the firmware,by GrantGabrielson - Printing
My thoughts for what a standardized spool should look like It needs to have an inside diameter of over 3 inches, any smaller, and from my experience the filament has a higher probability of getting tangled. I really dislike cardboard spools because they are flimsy and do not work with all methods of holding filament. I think that it should be about 8 inches wides, and 8 inches in diameter. I tried running it through a text editor already, and replacing the A with the E, I forgot to change out the hot end codes though. I will try that once I get to my home computer, thanks!by GrantGabrielson - Printing
I recommend printing higher than that, at least 200 or above. Why is your first layer shorter than the rest, it is usually the opposite?by GrantGabrielson - Printing
It is probably because you are printing at to low of a temp, try raising it up. For pla most people print at 200 but my extruder was having the same problem so I raised it to 220 and it prints like a dream.by GrantGabrielson - Printing
The extruder is not capped at all. How did you get Mach 3 to work? I am currently using a Printrboard with Marlin, what firmware can I put on to make mach 3 work? I tried it, but the extruder would not run nor heat.by GrantGabrielson - Printing
I am a relative newbie to 3d printing(about 7 months of having a printer), I am trying to build a faster 3d printer. Before I started, I wanted to see how fast a printer could possibly go, so I went into slic3r and turned everything to 150 mm/s, the object I had (a pig figurine) took just about an hour to print. I then went back in and turned it up to 200 mm/s and so on and so forth until I hitby GrantGabrielson - Printing
