QuoteShank man These are my reasons for Csamsi to consider a CoreXY or H-bot kit thats all. Isn't this what the thread is all about? I'm definitely not here to bash other peoples recommendations so there's no cause to take offense if it was taken. Its all good. Would you have links to kits? or build log? Thank you, Caesar.by csamsi - Reprappers
Hey, Thank you! My eBay search foo is not so good, is there a link to the kit? Thanks, Caesar.by csamsi - Reprappers
Come on ... I still haven't seen a good recommendation yet. If I need to build from scratch, is there a build log along with a BOM list? Thank you, Caesar.by csamsi - Reprappers
As a follow up to this, I did get a kit from DIYTech. It was a nightmare, the parts didn't fit, were misshapen, no instructions. It was basically junk and I still don't have a 3D printer (saving again).by csamsi - Washington, Seattle RepRap User Group

Hi, I'm wanting to get started with 3D printing. I've built a CNC router machine and pretty comfortable with mechanicals and electronics. For the printer, I'd like a kit with instructions, ready to build, proven. It doesn't matter what kind but I'm partial to Delta's and Prusa's. All this really means is that somebody here has built the kit succesfully without too much trouble. With that in mby csamsi - Reprappers
If there is wobble, the threaded rod needs to be replaced. The flexible (not fixed shaft) metal coupling accommodates wobbling well, I've even tried angling and it would still drive the threaded rod. I would rather have a flexible metal coupling with positive contact vs. vinyl slipping from friction. But ... this is my first build ...by csamsi - Reprappers
After stating I would purchase from them again ... I've rethought this. I wouldn't recommend this if you expect high quality printed parts. The parts they print for the plastic parts of the printer have Z-axis wobble, by no means smooth walls. I see 1mm wobble for each layer. I asked for replacements, and they still have wobbles. After repeated emails and voice mails, the LCD and junk hot end waby csamsi - Reprappers
Hi all, I have my kit Iron3D printer (Prusa i3 variant) from DIYTech 80% completed. Help! I'm blocked at the moment. 1. Where can I buy the hot end??? It mounts to a standard Prusa extruder assembly (U slot on the bottom). 2. Where can I buy the LCD / SD card slot ? I ordered mine with but DIYTech didn't ship me the part. 3. What are the specs to buy a power supply? Where to buy? I prefer nonby csamsi - Reprappers
I purchased my 3D printer from DIYTech, overall the kit was OK, but they are very slow to respond (email) for support. The assembly guide only provides HW assembly illustrations. I need help with: Wiring stepper motors to controller Programming the Arduino firmware Doing a test print I'm willing to lug my printer over, it's the Iron 3D 12" x 12" Prusa based printer. Thanks! I appreciate any advice & suggestions to make a gantry printer from reprap parts. I'd like to add this style to the RepRap community models later once the printer is working with a proven design. I'm thinking of converting a Prusa i3 to become a gantry style printer. This means the print bed stays stationary and the Y axis movement is made using the gantry moving back and forth. Joshua and I came to an agreement to return the kit with refund to my credit card.by csamsi - General Mendel Topics
No, I disagree, a re-designed kit should always come with instructions. I Googled it and didn't find anything about MakerGeeks assembly manual. I found numerous other manuals, but none are similar much less close to their kit. We worked out a return/refund.by csamsi - General Mendel Topics
I posted a bad review of MakerGeeks at I would not recommend them to anybody.by csamsi - Washington, Seattle RepRap User Group
I also found their Returns are Refunded as Store Credit: Mine would be fulfillment claim with VISA, goods not delivered as expected. I have bolded and italicized critical information before you decide to purchase anything from MakerGeeks. >> Return Policy and Procedures Once we receive your return we'll have a store credit issued for you within 48 hours. Your store credit will not inby csamsi - General Mendel Topics
I posted a review on their page, and sent Joshua mail. The review is moderated. No response from Joshua. I'll give him 48 hours, then credit card claim it goes.by csamsi - General Mendel Topics
Because MakerGeeks does not include a manual, I am following the RepRap manual http://reprap.org/wiki/Prusa_i3_Build_Manual Already have problems: 1. Missing z-axis-top.scad 2. Modified z-axis-bottom.scad (I recognized it by the holes) 3. Missing y-motor.scad 4. Modified y-idler.scad (not sure it is even this part as the holes are rounded rectangular holes) 5. y-corners.scad (M10 x 1 M8 x 2 holeby csamsi - General Mendel Topics
I’m really disappointed with MakerGeeks Prusa i3 3D printer kit. I purchased expecting a quality made in USA product. Joshua indicated it takes 2 weeks to print the kit, but boy that must just have been the shipment time from China. If all they did was print the yellow plastic parts, and imported the rest from China, I would have just purchased it from eBay. It's faster actually, usually 1 weekby csamsi - General Mendel Topics
Where can I find an assembly manual for a Prusa i3 kit? I'm really disappointed with how MakerGeeks sell their 3D printer kits. I'll post a review later, but basically it looks to made in China, along with other problems. I would not purchase from them again. I recommend against buying from them. Buyer beware. The critical problem though, It comes with NO assembly manual. Thanks, Caesar.by csamsi - General Mendel Topics
Awesome! Thank you very much! I watched the video, neat. He lists the parts and plans to build the printer too. Thanks again, Caesar.by csamsi - Reprappers
Which reprap model prints with the print bed not moving? i.e. stationary, the nozzle moves in X, Y, Z planes. I want to print ceramics, and the bed can't move, otherwise the print flops over ... Thanks! Caesar.by csamsi - Reprappers
Has anybody converted their 3D printer to a simple CNC to mill PCB boards? I'd like to do the same. Thanks, Caesar.by csamsi - General Mendel Topics

This is great info ... wish I had known way back when I ordered my Prusa i3 from makergeeks 2 weeks ago. DIYTech looks like ready to ship vs. 2 weeks for makergeeks.by csamsi - Washington, Seattle RepRap User Group
On the other hand are there dremel attachment sold online? Thanks, Caesar.by csamsi - General Mendel Topics
I've been to thingieverse ... there are mounts but none of them offer a quick attach/detach mechanism. They all are bolt on/off which takes tools and time.by csamsi - General Mendel Topics
Bumping to the top, keeping the dream alive :-) I'm hoping for a quick attach / detach way to mount / unmount the extruder and dremel flex shaft.by csamsi - General Mendel Topics

Wow, so many issues! I've read the thread front to back entirely. I just ordered the Prusa Mega since it was on sale for $590 something + $120 TNT shipping. Luckily, I used PayPal, if it comes unusable I'll have it returned/refunded via PayPal. Before I cancel the order, is the hardware salvageable by replacing the electronics with RepRap boards? Thanks!
