Hi, Now that I have an enclosure for my printer I thought it would be easy to add air extraction and wonder how hard is it to make a scrubber to filter out toxic vapours? Are there any DIY designs out there that anyone has seen. I guess a water bath or water shower box would be most effective but this would humidify the air, so I think not recycling the air but exhausting out of the building iby kadil - General
Hi John, Very interesting. I have since solved the problem with my printer, it works so well now, I am very happy. I suspected the bed was bowl shaped (low in the middle) so I: 1) made a design like a naughts and crosses grid, one layer high, with 20 mm between lines, in X and Y directions 2) printed the grid very slowly and it confirmed my suspicions 3) flipped the glass bed over, cleaned itby kadil - Mechanics
I am quite sure that flatness of the glass bed on my prusa style printer is a problem which led me to an idea which is to adhere a sheet of polyproplyene to my glass bed and using the hot nozzle to shape the plasticised bed into a flat surface (as flat as the gantry will produce anyway). Has this been done before? I know it would be slow and consume a lot of energy. Interested in considered opinby kadil - Mechanics
Hi, I am building a 3d printer and want to add 3 switches to manually drive the stepper motors, rather than using the 1 knob and menu system on the LCD. Can anyone advise if this feature is included in the code & pinout, also where in the code is this handled? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Kimby kadil - Firmware - Marlin
Actually this is a much more affordable robotic servo:by kadil - General
Hi, Just starting out and wondering if it would be possible to use a 3d printing pen instead of a hot end and filament feeder like Also thinking that it would be easier to use robotic servo's instead of stepper motors like Interested in your thoughts. These components look affordable and functional.by kadil - General
