I didn't use the "belt stand", didn't look like it would work with our x end. I printed "belt x" and found a piece similar to yours for the other side. It is working great.by hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
Devil, try this x tensioner, I didn't lose any room on the x axis on my acrylic Folgertech with it. I only used the part the bearings go in to, the other half is specific to the rework idler end. The one you already printed for the outside of the idler should work fine.by hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteDevil Inc Ordered my E3D V6 hot end last night. Not to decide what style of extruder do I want to build it into. Bowden/Wades? I kind of like the Airtripper drives as they are direct drive so they are compatible with most of the parts in my MK7 extruder. I'm open to options and opinions. I printed this one for my acrylic Folgertech and it has been awesome, haven't had a single issue with itby hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
It worked perfectly for me, and takes like 2 minutes to print. I'm sure it will work out well for you!by hockey9999 - General
I had the same issue. I printed one of these little clips to stop the black fitting from moving down. Keeping it up locks the PTFE in place.by hockey9999 - General
No problem! Yes, they should fit the V6 as well. I was having trouble with the stock hot end so I printed the less complex one first just so I could install the E3D before printing the full mount/extruder replacement.by hockey9999 - General
I dont think it is possible without printing a new mount. I just upgraded my FolgerTech to a Lite6. Initally I printed this which works with the original extruder and was simple to print. Next, I printed this full replacement including a new extruder which works a whole lot better than the original one.by hockey9999 - General
Definitely let me know how it works out. I'm curious to see if you get accurate temps with the infrared thermometer, after changing to 1.by hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
Maybe the bed and hot end actually have different thermistors? I changed both the hotend and bed thermistor values in Configuration.h to 1. I dont have a way to measure temp aside from trusting the thermistor - but bed heating times seemed to be back in line with what I was experiencing when using the Folger firmware. A test print after making the changes seemed to come out fine. It may be worby hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
Awesome, thanks! I knew only one of them would be used, just couldn't figure out why there were different sizes.. this is all still new to me! I'm thinking about ordering the E3D Lite6, seems to be a good upgrade to the stock hotend without spending a fortune.by hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
Maybe a dumb question.. what are the 4 different bearing extenders for? Also, does this need to be printed in ABS, or will PLA be OK?by hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
I wonder if this has anything to do with it? Maybe Folger edited the table in their firmware similar to what MakerFarm did? thermistor I just emailed them about an unrelated issue and asked.. I'll let everyone know what they sayby hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
If you measured the temp with a thermometer and it was 97c, but Marlin reports 90c to Repetier, wouldn't that indicate a problem with Marlin?by hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks! That would be awesome, I don't have a way to measure the bed temp other than trusting the thermistor reading - which is definitely different between firmware versions. I've read elsewhere that it seems to take longer to heat in 1.0.2 - maybe it doesnt actually take longer to heat, it takes longer because it is overheating? This is the line I uncommented in pins.h (line 545 in particulaby hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
Is anyone using Marlin 1.0.2? I tried updating but am having some weird issues.. I moved over all settings from the version of Marlin that Folger provided. I also noticed that there is a line in pins.h that needs to be uncommented for the Ramps 1.3/1.4 board. Everything appeared to be working fine, so I loaded some gcode and started a print. At first, it looked like the bed was taking signifiby hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
I haven't received my kit yet, but have been doing a lot of reading and am thoroughly confusing myself about the endstops.. hoping someone can help clarify for me.. The Makerbot style endstops that come with the kit - are they normally open or normally closed? I guess what has me confused is that endstops without the PCB use 2 wires, the common and either NC/NO - depending on how you want the eby hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteenzo1027 Well don't be so secretive! What types of kits are you working on?! I'm ready to pull the trigger on your Kossel, but now I may wait! Agreed! My i3 kit hasnt shipped yet and now I hear they are releasing new stuff. Hope I didn't make a mistake and the new kits aren't way nicer...by hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
Placed an order for my Folger Prusa i3 on Monday, along with the full graphics LCD. The 10+ day wait is going to be painful! This will be my first 3D printer, looking forward to the build I've already skimmed through the entire thread, and am now reading it more thoroughly for a second time, up to page 20... I think the only other things I need are glass and filament. What is better to start oby hockey9999 - Prusa i3 and variants
