Thanks I wasn't aware that CoreXY can be in 2 levels. niceby Shachar85 - CoreXY Machines
Hi all I'm staring to design my next printer, based on HyperCube Evolution. I was trying to figure out the belt system, then I noticed there is no belt crossing. Is it really CoreXY, as it considered to be, or is it really H-bot? and if not CoreXY, should I expect gantry racking?by Shachar85 - CoreXY Machines
I swear i did those steps about 6 times :-/ only the heater and thermistor were already installed. It looks like a gap, but I can't understand where. The last time I assembled it, I tighten the nozzle at the end so hard that I broke it. Had to disassemble and assemble the whole thing again with new nozzle. so...any ideas what is going on?by Shachar85 - Printing
if it helps, this is how the filament look after I take it outby Shachar85 - Printing
Can't print PLA. I've printing a lot of ABS, usually with no problem. Now I'm trying PLA. now, the thing is that I can extrude some. and as long as I keep pushing it (by hand, or extruder), it keeps going. Once I stop, even for few seconds, when I try to extrude again, it will go for very short time and then get stuck. Tried 195,200,205,210 and 215 degrees. always with fan on. Now, I printed Pby Shachar85 - Printing
I think I proved it is not a matter of temperature. I printed yesterday a white cylinder. starting 240 (deg-Celsius) and decreasing 10 degrees every 10mm down to 210 degrees. Also printed average speed (2400mm/s) The color came very uniform. There was not even a slight change. Still a bit yellowish. I find it hard to believe that it is a matter of old material, because I opened it out of vacuuby Shachar85 - Printing
OK so the print is out and it seems the color is the same, so it rules out the printing speed. My first guess would be as Anvoice wrote - thermistor not in place showing wrong temperature. I hope it is not the case as V6 lite musn't get more than 245 degrees. I'll get to it in the evening. Any other thought? What may cause something like that?by Shachar85 - Printing
thank. I also always print 240 and never had such a problem. Another print is about to finish in 3 hours. I printed it slower and it looks very white again, I'll keep you posted once I get it out of the machine and compare it side by side.by Shachar85 - Printing
I tried to print a bit faster on few of my last prints. By faster I mean 3000mm/min, when usually I print 2000-2300 mm/min. The result was that a white filament became a bit yellowish, like the white got too much heat and got burned a bit. I printed with the same spool of filament before and got a very white result and the only thing I changed was the speed. Has anyone encountered something lby Shachar85 - Printing
An update- The arduino was powered from the PSU (PC PSU). I power it now with external 9v PSU and everything works perfectly smooth. It seems that it was a matter of power consumption. Thanks for the tipby Shachar85 - Printing
Might be the something to do with it. I'll check it tomorrow. I did some modifications lately in the 5v area. What made you think of it?by Shachar85 - Printing
Little bit more details. Might help for solution I tried to warm the extruder with USB connected, then, when it is warm enough, switch to standalone mode and print from SD. When I turned on the system (after the extruder already warm), I noticed the nozzle temperature is very not stable. Even without trying to heat the nozzle. Just reading the temperature. When it was connected with USB, theby Shachar85 - Printing
The problem also happen the same way when I try to heat things up through the ramps menu. Even with no SD card at all. So I think the SD card is innocentby Shachar85 - Printing
Hi I've been having some trouble to print from SD. When I try to print from SD, or even set the nozzle temperature from the RAMPS menu - the nozzle temperature can't get to stabilize and the temperature jump 4-5 and sometimes even 10 degrees from a reading to the next reading. I thought it was a matter of PID setting, but when I tried to set it with USB cable, the temperature rises perfect andby Shachar85 - Printing
Hi all CoreXY is new to me. Heard about it only lately. I've been wondering - how is it possible to work so good with 2 independent motors? Each motor has a tolerance about it torque. So it is very unlikely that the 2 motors will have the same exact torque. If one motor turn more than the other - no line will ever be completely linear. Though CoreXY works with no doubt - so how does it work?by Shachar85 - CoreXY Machines
I didn't touch the Vref at all. I don't think the get in overtemp protection as the motor continue to spin (if I understand correctly that overtemp is when the driver shut the motor until it cools). There's a small fan pointed on the the drivers making it possible to run. The motors still get very very hot. Impossible to hold by hand.by Shachar85 - General
It seems that the problem became more complex than I thought. I couldn't understand why the problem repeated even when I tighten the screw. I found out the extruder motor became so hot that the small gear (greg wade reloaded) twisted after few minutes. I found it interesting. I'm trying to print an ABS gear. mine is PLA. Hoping it will solve the problem Though I reall don't thing the motor shouby Shachar85 - General
ok...it wasn't the main problem The problem was the gear was not tight enough on the motor The motor DID turn. I just didn't see it (because I was looking on the gear)by Shachar85 - General
heater element doesn't play part. the motor doesn't run even with no filament. the cable should be fine as the motor worked every time I switched with X axis. What is prevent cold extrusion? sounds like it could be somethingby Shachar85 - General
changed RAMPS same result changed driver again for double check. same results Real frustrating. any ideas guys?by Shachar85 - General
Hi Strange malfunction. Extruder motor stopped working. Switched between X axis motor and extruder - Result: extruder works and X axis dosn't. I figured maybe driver is gone. Switched between drivers - extruder still doesn't work. So... motor is ok. driver...probably ok. Settings? (I didn't touch them. shouldn't be a problem) Ramps? maybe. I find it a bit hard to believe. Any more ideas?by Shachar85 - General
wow this is so stupid... I used the wrong Marlin folder which was not configured at all - which means the LCD was not configured at all which means...stupid mistake anyway I used the correct files now at the world is right again thanks all for the help. thank Fran@Franceby Shachar85 - General
tried both configuration.h nothing seems to work means the screen don't work. how can I check anything?by Shachar85 - General
I know about the orientation. I also tried to get everything of the RAMPS excluding the screen and it still didn't workby Shachar85 - General
After changing the drivers to DRV8825 on RAMPS1.4, I tried to flash Marlin again with the new configurations. Since then, nothing seems to work. The screen becomes blue and that's it, nothing written on it. Tried to to upload a brand new Marlin and same results. Not working. Tried to upload Arduino's Blink example and it works. Any ideas what's wrong?by Shachar85 - General
wow 1/2" is huge I'll order the 2mm lead. I'll order the 2mm lead then. It will be harder to assemble (slower movement up and down), but I assemble it once,,, I hope.. so I'll go with itby Shachar85 - Developers
Guys I'm about to order some parts for the new assembly (took me some time....) Need your advice about the lead screw for the Z axis. The seller have several options of screws: I think the smaller lead is better for Z axis, isn't it so?by Shachar85 - Developers
ok a little update I got the printer to print. Marlin was stuck on heating because the temperature wasn't stable enough on 240. I am still not sure about the 15 degrees difference. if it is a bug or I'm missing something. If someone know something about it, please let me knowby Shachar85 - RAMPS Electronics
Custom printer. E3D 6lite hotend. I'm trying to finalyl print and 2 weird things happen: 1. I configured the max temp to be 245 deg, but when I try to heat it through the menu it lets me heat up to 230. Then I changed to 244 and could heat to 229. Changed configuration to 255 and could get to 240. As I use 6lite and shouldn't exceed 245- someone know what the 15 deg difference is about? (BTW, sby Shachar85 - RAMPS Electronics
