Instead of buying a new board, I just decided to use E1 as X2 in Marlin and swapped my TMC2208 over from the X slot on the mainboard to the E1 slot to use it's stepper slot and motor output. All works great now, I won't be installing a second extruder on this machine anyway so all is well. If anyone reads this in the future and wants to do the same: in Configuration_adv.h #define X_DUAL_STEPPEby IG88 - General
Swapping cables/drivers are the first things I tried unfortunately, see first post for the findings. I swapped the DRV8825 and the corresponding jumpers to the X-axis and configured Marlin to reflect the change, just to see if it was an issue with the UART. Still no movement on the X-axis. Then measured for the vref voltage on the DRV8825; nothing.. So it looks like the main board isn't powerinby IG88 - General
Just an update, I got the BTT version of Marlin 2.0 specifically for the SKR V1.3 to see if it might help. Still having the exact same issue. Going to check voltages now, suspect an issue with the SKR board..by IG88 - General
Hi Dust, Thanks for your reply. I just double checked and all jumpers are ok. Removed XST, YST, ZST, E0S, E1S jumpers. XUART, YUART, ZUART are all bridged. E0 and E1 UART are not (using a DRV8825 for my extruder, don't have a second extruder). No jumpers at all below the step stick. Next up would be get the multimeter out and see if I get power to the 2208 on the X. Other possibility might beby IG88 - General
Hello! I got a junk Davinci 1.1 Plus from a colleague. Ripped out the original electronics and wired in a spare SKR 1.3 i had laying around. Using genuine Watterott TMC2208 drivers for X,Y and Z. Set them all up for UART and everything is working great for Y and Z.. But my X-axis is having issues. So I sent an M122 command on Pronterface, I've pasted the result below. What I've tried so far:by IG88 - General
Hi all, I've designed a toolchange system that will allow the X/Y carriage of my CoreXY printer to grab seperately parked tools. Similar to the E3D toolchange system, but much less professional (I just use permanent magnets) I plan to have 3 seperate tools E0,E1,E2. I want to prevent the printer from trying to grab a new tool when there is already a tool on the carriage. To prevent this I'm tryby IG88 - Developers
Solved: I overlooked the fact that the melzi board that comes with the X5S has drivers running at 1/16 microstepping, where as my rumba is using 1/32 microstepping. This mucked everything up, also making my prints twice as small. Adjusted for this in firmware and fine tuned E steps/mm. All running good nowby IG88 - Printing
Whoa I had the EXACT same issue with my home built printer, I never got round to solving the issue because upon realising that wood is quite flammable, I scrapped the whole thing (It was made entirely out of wood). Like you, I tried a bowden setup, a Titan extruder, slower accellerations, etc. Even though I never solved the problem, I do have some theories, so maybe you can check the followingby IG88 - Printing
Hi all! Just got my X5S working for the first time. Only mod I've made so far a new control board, RUMBA with marlin 1.1.8. I'm having trouble getting the first layer right. I've leveled my bed multiple times using a sheet of paper. I've tried using both Cura and Slic3r (both Within RepetierHost) giving the same results. On Cura, I've set the first layer extrusion down to 50% and on Slic3r I'by IG88 - Printing
Thank you all for your replies! Srek, Ahh thanks for the heads up. I got the feeling i was doing something wrong when i saw the print lurch about with the movement of the extruder. I'll remove the enclosure entirely with PLA from now on. FixerT, That could be true, perhaps some ABS is still in the nozzle, and won't fully extrude away since I'm extruding PLA at only 195 C. I'll bump up the heatby IG88 - Printing
Attached some pictures of the melting man! I've just finished building a homemade 3D printer but I'm having some difficulty getting my layers to bond correctly. My very first prints with ABS had this problem even after trying a myriad of different settings, so i decided to try PLA from Colorfabb, as seems to be an easier medium for beginners. I secretly hoped i'd lose the disconnected layers...by IG88 - Printing
FIXED I tried to move the motors using Repetier-Host, same issue. However when i pressed the homing buttons the selected axis would move slightly, so i figured it had something to do with the endstops. I altered their function in Marlin, problem solved, it's alive! Not sure how to delete threads, i'm trying to at the moment.by IG88 - General
Hello beautiful people, I've just finished my homemade 3D printer, but I'm running in to something that might slightly affect my prints, my motors ain't moving. So far i've tried moving all axes with my ''Intelligent LCD Smart Controller'' by going to the apropriate menu and turning the button. At first, the DRV8825 heatsinks were getting very hot, and moving the selected axis made a high pitchby IG88 - General
