I have found that, even if you find the right conditions (printer settings, print bed surface material and adhesive characteristics) to hold large parts flat to the bed during printing, they will take on some warp when removed from the printing surface. The stresses which cause warping are introduced as each layer is applied and then cools and they exist even if the part is held perfectly flat dby stan510 - Printing
The vase files I want to print are solid. People refer to Vase Mode which apparently prints these with a hole in the top. Is this somewhere in Repetier Host? Or is it separate software? Thanks for any info.by stan510 - General
Cura Engine seems to work OK. Never tried it before so we will see.by stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
Slic3r sometimes crashes my computer when used on some downloaded parts. I haven't had this problems with things I design. This is so frequent that it is driving me nuts. Any suggestions?by stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
I'm sure there is a procedure for restarting a broken filament or changing filaments which I don't know. I learned that continuing to extrude and stuffing the new filament end in behind the old does not work. How about reversing the extruder while continuing to heat the nozzle and pulling on the end above the extruder? Because of all my attempts,I ended up with the pipe leading to the nozzle cby stan510 - Reprappers
Thank you very much.I am almost too dumb for this project!by stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
Got it. Thanks.by stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
Using Repetier Host, I slice the item and go to the Print Preview tab and click the Save for SD Print box. This allows me to save the file on my laptop. Then when I go to the SD Card tab, the file does not appear on the file list. So I need to somehow move the file from my laptop to the list so I can upload to the SD card. That must be very straight forward but I just don't see how to do thisby stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
I found the display problem. The contrast pot on the back needed to be adjusted. Now all I need to do is figure out how to load a file onto the SD card and be able to disconnect my laptop and have the printer run on its own.by stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
I just finished building my Prusa i3 printer and have been running it using my laptop and Repetier Host. I must be thick or something but I cannot figure out how to use the LCD which came with the printer to control print jobs. It's all properly installed and I added an SD card. The screen is lit but that's all I get. How do you load a print job from Repetier to the LCD? I click on the SD caby stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
Elmer's all purpose clear glue stick. I'm using PLA filiment. I found that placing the glass on my stove element (electric stove) and heating a bit frees it up without danger of melting the item. I just push on it with something while heating and it slides off, usually in less than a minute.by stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
I ended up putting it into my oven set at 400F. I took it out when the oven was at 360F and it slid right off. I cleaned up the residue with alcohol. Problem solved.by stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
I poured hot water on the back of the frozen plate. Still stuck. Any more suggestions? Thanks.by stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
I tried a version of that but I'll try it againby stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
My print (50mm disk essentially) is stuck fast to the glass plate. I have tried everything to get it off. No luck. Suggestions? I use glue stick to get adhesion.by stan510 - Prusa i3 and variants
I think that was the case. A few adjustments and it seems OK now.by stan510 - Reprappers
I am building a Prusa i3 The Z-axis threaded rods are threaded through a nut which is pressed into each Z-axis carriage. This press fit is not tight enough to prevent the nuts from pulling out of the carriages when lowering the X-axis assembly. What is the best fix for this? A bit of glue? I don't want to get glue on the threads.by stan510 - Reprappers
