Hello,Silverstalker - yes it runs fine from the SD card, I just would have liked it to run from the laptop. Hoever, it's not the end of the world if I have to use the card. Thanks for the help Dizybearby Dizybear - General
HI, I too am new to 3d printing - and I need help! My Hic3d17 was working fine until I bought a new laptop with Windows 10 installed. After installing Cura and Repetier I still can't get the printer running. When I plug in the USB, I get the windows 'device plugged in' sound, but a quick look in device manager only shows the USB COM 3 symbol - no printer. What drivers or other software do I needby Dizybear - General
To everyone that helpe with their expertise, a very heartfelt thank you. I have now finally sorted out the problem. Unfortunately I have to hang my head in shame as it turned out to be something even simpler than I first thought. I had broken the blower duct onto the extruder, so I printed off another one that I found on MYminifactory. I never noticed that the new one blew cold air staight onto tby Dizybear - Printing
MCcarman, Thanks for the info, I haven't checked the bed voltage setting - where will I find it? I'm at work ATM so won't be able to check for a few hours. I'm hoping to spend some time this afternoon fine tuning a hammer to hit it with Cheers Dizzybearby Dizybear - Printing
Hi James, I measured the voltage across the black & yellow pins as the bed was heating, so yes, it was under load. I have noticed prior to me changing a few bits that I could have the head heating without a problem, but if I heated the bed in isolation it would return the Failed heating message,by Dizybear - Printing
The saga continues......... I've had the printer heated for the last 10 minutes at 240 at the head and 100 at the bed. It's ticking along nicely which leads me to believe that the PSU just can't cope with heating and motors. Am I way off the mark here? I know there are some real genius out there so please help an old guy trying to keep up with techby Dizybear - Printing
Sorry to be a pain, but now I've checked the heater connections and the voltage is all over the place, I guess that it varies as it tries to maintain the temp. The only thing left for me to cahnge after the wires and PSU is the main boardby Dizybear - Printing
Just a thought, would beefing up the wiring help? If I've got my maths right 24V 15A is the same as 12V 30A.by Dizybear - Printing
Hi, I too have a Hictop Prusa i3 with a heating failed problem. Only with me it seems to be the bed causing the problem. I got this at Christmas, and everywhere people are talking about 12v power supplies. Mine shipped with a 24v 15A PSU, but when I check the voltage at the bed terminals I'm only getting 23.5v - is this right? The heating failure occurs randomly at the beginning of a print, normaby Dizybear - Printing
Hi again, I'm connected through an Ethernet cable, but I'll try to disconnect that and see what happens. Fingers crossedby Dizybear - Fisher
In the meantime, is there anything I can do to keep on printing? It's a very expensive paperweight at the momentby Dizybear - Fisher
Thanks for the prompt reply, I look forward to latest developments. Cheers Dizzybearby Dizybear - Fisher
Hi, sorry it's taken so long to get back, but it behaved ffor a while. Sorted (almost). I've changed the shape of the bed and that's fine, but now after a period of time it comes up with an AJAX error and stops the print job. I've touched nothing but it just wasted my afternoon. Any clever people out there?by Dizybear - Fisher
Hi, I'm new to this lark, and I'm also having problems with using Slic3r and my fisher printer. It prints the robot without any problems but when I inport a .stl file to Slic3r and convert to G code, three problems arise: 1. The heater doesn't switch on 2. The arms move to one side of the bed and 3. It tries to build in just one plane vertically. I looked into the settings, and it has the bed asby Dizybear - Fisher
