Ok, next time I have a picture I'll give it a try.by luckyflyer - Look what I made!
So how do you do in message pictures?by luckyflyer - Look what I made!
DD, I've built your nifty Fine adjusting Z endstop.. I used a 70mm bolt and get 1.6MM of adjustment. Z=0 is now a breeze on my Sec-kit, I did lose a little Z height which with a little redesign could be corrected. Picture attached, don't know how to do in message pictures on this forum like you did. Thanks for sharing.by luckyflyer - Look what I made!
I did not know that, thanks for that info.by luckyflyer - Firmware - Marlin
I'm unable to go higher than 230c on the hotend of my skr1.3 powered maker select. Somehow the software is setting this limit. This is for both the lcd terminal or Octoprint. I've looked in config.h and adv.h and did not find anything that would set this limit. Here is #define HEATER_0_MAXTEMP 245 so that's not it. What else would set a 230C limit?by luckyflyer - Firmware - Marlin
Good point. Those little blobs of filament on the bed are annoying.by luckyflyer - General
So which is the preferred way to home Z? Home with the opto to first layer thickness say .13 mm and leave software Z offset at 0 or home the opto to some other positive number and use a software -z offset? I'm guessing it's probably personal preference.by luckyflyer - General
Thanks for that, much appreciated.by luckyflyer - Look what I made!
Mike, I know you have been busy with other projects but I'm curious if you have done any more on the piezo.controller. I'm at frustration city with my orion e3dv6 on a cartesian. I'm not ready to quit on it but I see where others have gone down a very deep rabbit hole with their piezo's with some having success and others giving up in frustration. Having tried the things that others have tried suby luckyflyer - General
Can you make the stl's available for the printed parts?by luckyflyer - Look what I made!
Mr Dust, that edit fixed the problem, it works now, many thanks!by luckyflyer - Firmware - Marlin
Thanks for that dust, I'll check that, be tomorrow now.by luckyflyer - Firmware - Marlin
It is enabled, I followed teaching tech's video and ran the routine until I found the best k factor. I then tried entering the k factor with M900 and got the unknown command error. The only thing I can think of is I'm running bugfix 2.0 from late September I may need to upgrade to 2.0 final, which may be more trouble than it's worth since everything else is working pretty well.by luckyflyer - Firmware - Marlin
I'm trying to enter the K value M900 for linear advance and get unknown command on both ponterface and octoprint. Anyone else experience this, is there a fix?by luckyflyer - Firmware - Marlin
Thank you gentlemen, this helps me form an opinion.by luckyflyer - General
I have a corexy kit ordered and have been looking at the Duet controller boards. I like the larger screen sizes that are available for them. I have the inexpensive skr1.3 with octoprint in a modified monoprice machine and it has worked pretty well. It is not my intent to start any brand/format etc war but I would like to know is there any print improvement or feature(s) or some other benefit orby luckyflyer - General
Thats some very interesting reading TDD. It sound like you have access to machine tools, lathes, mills etc and know how to use them. I unfortunately I don't have that luxury. Thanks for posting, reinventing is never the best way.by luckyflyer - General
Four one in each corner.by luckyflyer - General
I've owned a Monoprice maker select for several years now and have modified it extensively. I've come to find that among other things the bed is a weak link in these printers. I've upgraded to a better carriage and an anycubic glass bed with piezo underbed sensors but even with unified bed leveling I have trouble with the pla prints sticking at the corners. The bed is leveled mechanically prettyby luckyflyer - General
Thanks, makes sense now.by luckyflyer - Firmware - Marlin
Can someone explain to me the line in marlin "#define HOMING_FEEDRATE_Z (20*60)" as it relates to changing the Z homing speed? I understand that changing the 20 number up or down changes the homing feedrate but I would like to know what 20"60 means regarding the Z feed rate in mm/m. To know this would be helpful in setting up a piezo z probe. Thanksby luckyflyer - Firmware - Marlin
Thanks for posting this, hopefully I'll never need to install a bootloader but good to know how if the need arises.by luckyflyer - Controllers
Bjorn, I can't thank you enough. The hole position is perfect. I wish I could buy you lunch or something. If you give me your paypal I'll pay you for this. Again, Thanks!by luckyflyer - 3D Design tools
I give up, I've tried with several cad programs to make a simple bracket for a power receptacle on my modified printer. I can't get it done. Could someone please convert this diagram to an stl file.by luckyflyer - 3D Design tools
I've recently installed an skr1.3 in my monoprice maker select 2.0. I know 32 bits is overkill but went with i because its cheap and the benefits of the bed leveling. Auto home works ok and the 9 point bed leveling routine appears to work ok. However when I print the nozzle is about 5mm above the bed. I navigate to the z offset setting on the lcd and advance to a lower number and push the buttonby luckyflyer - Firmware - Marlin
I would like to change the preheat abs and preheat pla values on my Monoprice Maker select v2. How would I do that?by luckyflyer - Prusa i3 and variants
dc42, I completely agree with your advice.by luckyflyer - General
I'm still looking around, I won't be able to order until the first of Oct. I have found this , looks interesting.by luckyflyer - General
The BLV looks like a very nice printer, How is the print quality?by luckyflyer - General
I have no where near the knowledge to make rational decisions regarding the shortcomings of any 3d printer, by having only owned one low end printer I simply have not paid my dues if you will. But I do take seriously those who do speak to the strengths and weakness of various printers based on their ownership of multiple if not many different printers and will generally follow their advise.
