Sadly - these are the same sort of issues I had and caused me to go back (successfully) to BLTouch (that and thermal sensitivity). In retrospect - I had one situation (that may be of help / a clue) -- this was that I accidentally disconnected the hotend fan and caused the lower mount to warp - making it impossible to calibrate. However, even after reprinting a lower mount - I could not get repby stuartofmt - General

I have installed an Orion to my Ender 5 (Duet wifi with RRF3) with Gulfcoast hotend (same-same microswiss) using the top mount from here and the bottom mount from here I modified the top end a bit because I felt there was not enough "meat" to support the 3mm inserts I have - at least with my skill level ..... I also enlarged the holes for the tool fan and used 2mm nuts as "inserts" and made itby stuartofmt - General
