Those files are on their svn. Though you just as easily use the RapMan extruder, or the Tamiya extruder that i'm using, There are several extruder designs around for a repstrap, look on thingiverse.by Grogyan - General
I'm looking forward to seeing that render. Looks gorgeous!by Grogyan - Delta Machines
Preaching to the priests of RepRap. Yeah, don't forget though your going to need a lot more energy to compensate the loss in controlling those micro steps to achieve similar torque of full stepby Grogyan - Controllers

- 16 years agoDude, you bet me to it to start a topic on this. I too am having the same problem, the motor is over driven when using MakerBot firmware and ReplicatorG and I commu force it to slow down, but am using the RepRap firmware, latest version, the Host software is a little buggy with Java 6, but when it does work, the steppers work, but the extruder doesn't, not even light up. I'm using a dc extruder mby Grogyan - RepRap Host
Your worried about the size? Lol My RepStrap is twice as tall and just as wide as the chair. It should do quite well as a Mendel RepStrapby Grogyan - Mechanics
Ask Adrian Bowyer for PLA if your in the UK.by Grogyan - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Ok, that definitely answers the why not use PWM to control it open loop. I have an old computer mouse that I can use its encoders, for the extruder. But am I right that this is the function that does step it? If it is I might have to rewrite it so that it uses the encoder for its feedback system. I just thought someone would have done it before, so that it was a simple mod.by Grogyan - RepRap Host
FYI /usr/lib/librxtxSerial.so Doesn't exist with JDK installed, nor does it exist under the 64bit version either.by Grogyan - RepRap Host
I'm kinda stuck till I return to work and earn some more money, so i've decided to work on getting the extruder board to step my Tamiya extruder, and I have a feeling that it was done once before with DC extruders in general, but I don't remember the hack that is needed to the code to step a DC motor in an open loop system. The MakerBot firmware does work, for about 0.5 seconds when the arcing oby Grogyan - RepRap Host

Eh, $1400 Euro per tonne works out to be $1.4 Euro per Kg, that sounds very reasonableby Grogyan - Reprappers
I'm not too sure what you mean by project lead on the wiki Sebastien, all i've done is produce accurate drawings for the 3 non replicable pieces. This was something that I was doing on the side to get quotes from CNC companies in my area, as the plan was, and I hope still is, to have a point of sale for NZ for the RepRap Mendel.by Grogyan - General Mendel Topics
It does sit on it vertices. You can post pictures up on photobucket for example and paste the image links here. That would be better for us to help, if we could see where your problem is.by Grogyan - Mechanics
Note that the STEP file is incomplete, but should give you a general idea of how the thing is builtby Grogyan - General
I typically use the Caliper script for Blender to make my measurements. Of course I once sliced meshes with Skeinforge Carve, then imported them into another program, then used AutoCAD and SolidWorks to extract proper dimensions.by Grogyan - General Mendel Topics

Interesting idea, using sugar. I once thought that simple flour and water could also work as a support material, though it may need an external container around the part being built. As for using pastes, MakerBot already has a syringe attachment designed. There is also the other 3D printer project called Fab@Homeby Grogyan - Plastic Extruder Working Group

Happy Christmas everyone and all the best for 2010. Was hoping to have my mendel built for today, that will have to wait till the new year when the 624 bearings arrive.by Grogyan - General
I checked with a couple of programs and, take an example from the top of my head as my computer is in a box over Christmas, the z axis and x axis stepper motors are missing. The output would be eDrawings which is much better to see fine details, and vrml to use in a browser pluginby Grogyan - General
One small problem, can anyone confirm that the step file has broken links to parts, thus they are not showing on import?by Grogyan - General
I can probably do some outputs of this so that those without Solid Works can still view the whole assembly. Before I do that, What colour would you like to see the printed part? What colour to make the laser cut parts (brownish)? What colour would you like the screws to be?by Grogyan - General

Here is a question, should we be printing, or embedding a recycle symbol with the plastic type number or type in it when we start a print? Cause with all the plastic around, and a recycle method to use old plastic, its better to have the plastic recycled at a plant than just biffed into a landfill. Egby Grogyan - Reprappers
You don't want to pinch the barrel or the filament may get stuck, as well as the flow rate out will also be lower. If however you use PEEK instead of PTFE, you can try using a high temp threadlocker, eg LocTite 680 to secure it in. Though to use a thread locker, you will have to use a plastic that resists some chemicals like PEEK and not PTFE, as its super non stickm so threadlocker would notby Grogyan - Mechanics
