Try using AVR Studio for burning the bootloader, as AVR studio handles many more programmers than the Arduino.by Grogyan - Controllers
Hold on a bit, Zach is nearing finishing up the 4th gen electronics, which I suspect will go on sale early to February next year, depending if he gets the mobo and extruder board done. I dunno what their plans are for getting more kits in, just thought I might give you all fair warning that they may no longer stock the older kits anymore.by Grogyan - Controllers
Just a small, maybe stupid, question. I have been following these experiments for a little while now. Are you guys taking into account lost material when they are cut and filed?by Grogyan - General Mendel Topics
Strange, I can't find the link or set of instructions on the wiki to install Sanguino on the Arduino environment. I used these instructions, which works for me I've now edited the page so that it is easier to findby Grogyan - RepRap Host
You really only need one motor, probably a linear actuator. By far the easiest would just have the screen on a pivot that turns as the screen comes out of a drawer, or goes back into its drawer. As for sensing when it has got to the point you want, surely you could just get away with simply micro switches. A relay in your car that turns on the motor till the actuator hits a switch, folded outby Grogyan - Mechanics
And I see, that Zach has finally taken my advice and put that chip into the design for the 4th gen electronics. Right now if I were to buy this part by itself, would cost around NZ$50 including shipping.by Grogyan - Controllers
Its the same on the same page as the link you posted. Funnily enough, its not in the MakerBot SVN. Just remember that R1 is not soldered. Though the circuit is just so simple, that its unlikely that its the circuit that is faulty, but the thermistor in the MakerBot that has died. A good reason to switch away from thermistors, they are NOT designed for high temperature range that is used in 3Dby Grogyan - Controllers
The circuit is so simple that you can bread board it or build a rats nest with those parts, which you can get from virtually any local electronics shopby Grogyan - Controllers
I'm using v17, but I did have V16, and had to completely uninstall it, and the preferences to get V17 to work ok.by Grogyan - RepRap Host
Ah yes, I see now, I saw that, its like 3 pixels difference between the two ends. I can have a go at fixing that unless anyone else does.by Grogyan - General
They serve mo special service, so if you can only find button head, slot or posidrive metric thread screws you should be okby Grogyan - Mechanics
When getting a closer look at it with Blender, I can see no error at all. The angles are all correct, so I don't know how you got that discrepancyby Grogyan - General

Nope, they have not yet, though i've sent Adrain an email with the proposed fixes of bad files that people like gerard94 have noticed.by Grogyan - RepRap Host

There are some STL's with holes in them, which I have fixed a while ago, just need someone to commit the changes to SVNby Grogyan - RepRap Host
Cheers Nophead. I wonder how he knew, was it when he started to build his personal Mendel or did he read this topic. I'll have to send Adrian an email when I get home from work about the other thing I noticedby Grogyan - Reprappers
If you can wait till I get home in about 10 hours or so, I can fix that plus a couple of other problems that I can seeby Grogyan - Reprappers
yep, had this happen to me on Saturday. delete your Skeing forge settings in your home directory named .skeinforge. and also delete your skeinforge installation and reinstall itby Grogyan - Skeinforge
I had the pleasure of talking with Ed on Thursday, and Vik brought round a, more less, completed Mendel, and its just as cool looking as it is in that photo. don't forget to look at the videos about Mendel, that will give you a really good feel for the machineby Grogyan - Mechanics
The crystal isn't used when flashing the device with a ICSP. I know on my board I had a faulty chip (took a few days to find the fault) I'd suggest you get a multimeter and check the 5V rail, and check to see if there are any shorts or dry joints anywhere. If you have a scope you can use it to see if the device is giving a response back.by Grogyan - Controllers
Vik's Mendelssohn uses ball chain, and the Y axis was the only place I saw a problem, which is easily fixed, Y idler bracker, one of the holes needs moving to enable the chain to pass over one of the threaded bars under the bed, not doing that would mean that the chain on that axis would break eventually from rubbing against this. This is just my observations, and looking forward to seeing the coby Grogyan - Reprappers

From looking at the parts, no you cannot mill these on a 4 axis CNC, assuming of course that the forth axis is an X axis turntable, a Y axby Grogyan - Mechanics
If we are asking Santa what we we want, here is a couple of ideas. A 5 Axis CNC mill or a 11 axis, your read correct, 11 axis CNC turning centreby Grogyan - General
wesjanik Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Is there any danger in putting enough power > through cat5 wire to power the extruder board? > Does it depend on the quality of the > connectors/wire used? Nope, no problem as I can see, just noise cross talk to adjacent data lines.by Grogyan - Controllers
The L298/297 combo is a very reliable stepper driver and been in use for a long time, the reason for the move to a one chip solution is that along with less power wastage, smaller total footprint, that you will have a better choice of possible drive resolutions, currently the L297 only goes down to half stepby Grogyan - Controllers
624 bearings are not readily available in New Zealand, and will need to be ordered in, which I plan on doing, and they WILL be expensive, so expensive I may have to do two purchases within my finances to get all of them for a Mendelby Grogyan - Mechanics

From what understand, is that PLA isn't normally available in filament form, but it is in granule form, and getting a local plastic weld supplier to turn the granule into filament. It makes sense to ask him to maybe supply you with some.by Grogyan - General
