i like that idea too, and it keeps things simpler in the long run, i hope that feature will makes its way onto the ramps boars in time, but i also know there is not allot of space left on them, thats another issue though. i think it is more than doable with an add-on card thought.by dissidence - RAMPS Electronics

hmm, that issue might be helped out allot with the new arduino atmel usb chips they are using on the new uno and mega, i know on my mega, the transfers are allot faster, but i am not printing yet, so i still have a bit to go.by dissidence - RAMPS Electronics

thats a good point about the computer crashing, i have not gave much thought to that, why do you think the quality got better off the sd card.? i know on the ramps board i have it would not be all to hard to add sd to the hardware, there are allot of free pins still to use. unless you need a specific serial pin.by dissidence - RAMPS Electronics
errors compiling under kubuntu - 15 years ago
i am trying to get repsnapper to compile under kubuntu but i get a make error "libconfig.h++: No such file or directory" i am not too sure how to get around that one. dose any one have a deb out for it yet,?by dissidence - RepSnapper

i have no issues with my older arduino mega, it works fine. its just with the 2560 that i am tunning into issues with. i have even tried setting the firmware to other speeds a few times. the kicker is that if i use ther serial monitor in the arduino software, it will connect. so i am not sure where my issue is i am thinking i may have installed a driver wrong though not sure how i could have messby dissidence - General

i am running into an issue with ramps with the tonokip firmware on the new 2560, and repsnapper i should try 5d to see if that one works any better for me. i have read there can be a firmware issue with the usb to serial chip, but i am finding the steps on how to compile hard to follow.by dissidence - General

i have been able to get it to connect to my arduino mega 1280, but i have got a comment on my blog that there is a bug in some of the firmware on the new usb chip that you can re flash but i am still looking into that,by dissidence - RepSnapper

i seem to be running into issues trying to get my new ramps board talking to the arduino mega 2560 i can program it fine and then when i try to connect to it, it will just not connect. yet when i try with the arduino software, i will get a short start message, is there another setting that i am missing.?by dissidence - RepSnapper

i think you would be far better off to try to get some round stock milled down, it is cheap enough to buy if you can find it, but you might have to buy allot more than you need, but you can always sell them after. i know one issue with casting aluminium is the toxic fumes so keep that in mind.by dissidence - General

i did what i could with that i had, lol thats most of my repstrap so far, but i will get there. it is not a perfect way of doing it, but i also didnt want to add allot of mass. my line of thinking was if i can keep the heat from going into the peek all the better. its far from a refined idea, but i thought it would be worth a try. i am not sure what there is for aluminium bolts out there, itsby dissidence - General

i am a fan of the ramps solution i like how they keep everything on one board. for me my choice was based on preference to keep things together and less clutter, seeing how the boards i was trying to make just always seemed to end up too cluttered, not to mention i had a pretty good bodge up last month too, i ended up killing my 4 pololu drivers i had, oh well lesson learned about my designs.by dissidence - Controllers

about the only 2 things i can think of are, 1 get ac, or 2 wait until it is cooler to print again. the only thing i can think of other than that would to be more space between your hot end and your cool end.by dissidence - General

the motors and pcb are not all that hard to get, just costly, i would offer to help but i am not that far along yet. you could offer to buy some one a 10 lbs role of stock in exchange i would go for that my selfby dissidence - Calgary

on all my orders with them they have sent me samples with the order. and i have to agree with the others they all feel very good and uniform, i will most likely order my pla from them, they have been very good to me in the past i have nothing bad to say about them.by dissidence - General

so far from what little i have seen there are allot of people that are pretty sure that the 1cm resolution is there theoretical best, but i don't know much about it yet. i would think it would be 2 at best my self but even with that, it is more than good for allot of new things.by dissidence - General

from what i know it will have to be pretty blatent for them to get a notice over something, it would have to have some sort of trademark on it. i have cought a few talks that use the automotive sector has a good example. and the just of it is that you cant pretend to be some one else. that is my understanding,by dissidence - General
