This is the Aluhotend I am clearing out parts from previous versions ( V5A , V5B and V5C ) to make way for the up comming version 7 hotend fits in any standard Jhead groove , nozzle size is 0.4mm , takes a standard 30watt or 40watt heater cartridge , for filament size 1.75mm 3mm ones can be put together on demand asking $35 but they are up for auction with a starting bid of $20 auctionsby thejollygrimreaper - For Sale

QuoteSanjayM QuoteI'm not sure that using a screw to hold something down counts as "developing". Pretty much the above. I am the one who came up with the idea when we implemented at E3D, but I don't know that we were the first to do so. Probably not. the idea has been around for a while, and a couple of the very small fly by night hotend producers did use the system before i even started producby thejollygrimreaper - General

in marlin a lot of the M code commands are unbuffered leading to the behaviour you have seen, there is an M code call M400 which you can place before your M280 which will make it wait until the move is complete before executing the M280 it's also probably not a bad idea to put it after the M280 as wellby thejollygrimreaper - General

Quotetjb1 QuoteOhmarinus Quotetjb1 QuoteOhmarinus Hey, great work the MendelMax 1.5 is missing though (has Z-motors on bottom instead of on top vertex). Do you know of any other pages that have a large amount of printers on them? Also, I don't see a page for the 1.5. Just the MendelMax page which claims to be for 1.X but does not have the modification. I'm sorry for the confusion, the Mendelby thejollygrimreaper - General

QuoteMaster Builder Wow, thanks for the info! I never would have known without it. How well does it print with ABS? I think I'll be sticking with PLA most of the time but I was just wondering how well it holds up to ABS. And you do need a fan to print PLA? I was originally going to go with 3mm filament, but it turns out that the printed parts I purchased, have the extruder body for 1.75mm.by thejollygrimreaper - General
QuoteDeuxVis Never used an aluminum plate myself. Why do you think it is needed ? My sandwich looks like this, from top to bottom : Printed part Garolite plate (for adhesion) Glass plate (to avoid flexing) Heater pcb Insulation made of glass wool wrapped in kapton tape (to avoid wasting heat on the unused side) thats quite the sandwich, all i've got is kapton heater - 3mm aluminium sheet - gby thejollygrimreaper - General
Quotevegasloki Quotethejollygrimreaper not really subjective, it's just a case of a simple checklist, eg is all the information they have provided correct? , do they carry counterfeit/produce counterfeit products? ... etc The determination of if the info is accurate or if something is counterfeit is absolutely objective. Take hot ends for example. JHead has become a generic term. Unfortunateby thejollygrimreaper - General
Quotevegasloki QuoteMattMoses It seems like we need to have a written policy about commercial links and commercial activity. Quotejaguarking11 Quotejamesdanielv in reality you will need spring tension as filament shape may stress to a different shape such as oval, and it can happen even during load and retraction. you may be better off with a knurled tool end, but I'm not sure entirely on how you would be applying pressure to it. the belt extruder idea. what benefits does it have with it other that less backlash? Quotecdru Quotethejollygrimreaper pdf export files of schematics and pcb layouts aren't really a source as you cannot reasonably expect to produce a board from it nor can you produce a variant of it from those pdf files easily. this kind of behaviour has regrettably become quite common on the wiki and quite a few people have gotten away with it for quite some time, if people want to do this kindby thejollygrimreaper - General

Quoteekaggrat another question is what information is enough to call a electronics board to be called open source . Some boards ( RADDS ) just share their schematic as a PDF and call themselves open source.. Aren't source files/gerber files necessary to call yourself open source? Quotetobben QuoteTraumflug Failing which way? People that don't care about organization and don't feel any responsibility for keeping things tidy will always show up when there is universal access. (I'm not against free editing access, but things like floods of commercial links happen.) If the ones tidying up give up, or if they don't agree on what is "tidy", then the magic fails. QuoteEndlane Quotejaguarking11 Now beyond blaming the manufacturer for not coming up with an original design. At Least E3D and J-head have published all their hotend schematics so all chinese manufacturers have to do is to follow them, but they can't even do that. what i've found that also helps quite a bit is the "round" off the corners of the model, that way the axis isn't making a hard stop instead slowing down and not totally at the mercy of the jerk settingby thejollygrimreaper - General
this is an artifact from the vibration in the belts produced every time an axis comes to a stop, if you slow down your perimeters and lower your jerk setting you can all but eliminate it , this is a normal part of tuning a printerby thejollygrimreaper - General
