Quotetjb1 QuoteA2 Quotetjb1 The silicone is just to hold the conductors together. a slightly heat conductor in itself (0.2 W/(m·K)) No silicone is not chosen only because it can suspend some thing. It's also chosen because of it's ability to conduct heat, some silicone's are considered a thermal conductor. hello! I'm looking for some 3D printable valves? Such as ball, gate and globe valves. My school has recently purchased a replicator x2 and Digitizer (Digitizer is pretty much useless) The reason for purchasing the printer is to build training aids to help cut costs. (Valves) Being able to print multiple plastic valves on demand vs the procurement of 'REAL' valves. I have my own printer at homby Mogal - Object repositories
LOL glad I'm not the only one who feels 'alone' in this world! I think back to my younger years when Dad tried to get me into the shop to help him out, learn and play. i was never interested (Typical kid/teenager I guess) but boy oh boy, do I regret not spending the time with him. The things we could have done! Today, I have a lathe and mill that I bought through auction houses. they were in pby Mogal - General

Now I find those cut off discs to be a pain... Maybe its just the ones I have, but the screw never stays tight, and the discs always spin and break because of it... I've ripped my flex drive apart and stole the chuck from it... I'm making a spring loaded engraving tool with it for the CNCby Mogal - General
I've been using 1.75mm from the get go. I just inserted a sleeve to convert the 3mm hole to 1.75mm and got a 1.75mm hotend. Wahla! Printing with 1.75mm filament. prices are generally the same here.by Mogal - Mendel90
What about rotary flex shafts? That way there is only one cable to the extruder, and not 2 (to/from) Google: Rotary Flexable Shaftby Mogal - Mechanics
I started this thread awhile back, but it never really cought on...by Mogal - Mendel90
Great job... Whats the advantage with this? I thought people didn't like this idea cuz it's 'too slow' ie: leadscrew Also, with this design, you have the extra mass on the x axis? Please do't beat me up over this, its just a curiosity question.by Mogal - General
Thanks Sublime, I'll read up on that before I start.by Mogal - General
I think this has been brought up, but I couldn't find it. What should the distance be in the pic? Does this directly contribute to the back-pressure?by Mogal - General
LOL, I've done my fair share of hand finishing But now I have these not this clean anymore. these were taken after a complete rebuild (lathe and mill) then when the CNC was first built and setupby Mogal - General
Thanks Steve, good to know it works well. I'll get into the shop and mill out a couple! LOL... now to start milling the 1" diam round stock to 1/2" square!!by Mogal - General
Yea, I thought about the 'stickiness' of copper... I have worked with copper before, I know the machining characteristics of it, but nothing this small. I guess there's only one way to find out!by Mogal - General
Besides cost, why aren't there more copper nozzles? Its thermal conductivity is nearly 3 times greater. Would there be any performance gains? Heating up faster? Better temperature control? I have some scraps in the shop and thinking of milling a couple to try out. Before I get too far into this, is brass really the better option? Thoughts? P.S. my current nozzle is a 0.5mm brass nozzle. I wasby Mogal - General
Over my last couple of prints, I noticed a decrease in the quality of prints... Today I realized what it was! Looks like the wires in the 2.5t belt have failed. Tried tightening it, but it quickly stretched again. Looking at the belt, you can't really see the broken lines, but there is two wires that you can feel as you run your fingers down the length of the belt. So looks like I'm outa commisby Mogal - Mendel90
Dunno if I would spend $100 for the book, but...by Mogal - General
But if you never looked at the manual, would you have done it right the first time? I think everyone been there at some point! you just sigh(maybe curse) and carry on with excitement!by Mogal - Mendel90
You need to match the baud rate. do you know what baud rate the printer is set at? and the software? These need to match, typically set at 250k baud.by Mogal - General
I've used these guys before. My cnc is now 4+ years with a few miles on it... The nuts are still running strong. I bought some for the printer as well...by Mogal - Developers
Thanks for the Hoolingans!! Not as nice as your print, but here is my prints!by Mogal - Look what I made!
Since I put a fan on the cold side of the extruder, I have yet to get a jam. (knock on wood of course!) I guess its caused from heat-creep... after a bit of running, the melted filament creeps back up the tubes and causes the jam... the fan keeps the cold end cold, and prevents this...by Mogal - Reprappers

Thanks for the info. I've re-posted this to the firmware section.by Mogal - RAMPS Electronics
I originally posted this under the RAMPS forum... Maybe get more attention here? I would like to change the LCD display info. Not sure where to start... So I'll ask!
