Hi Gary Thanks again for your continued feedback, it's really very helpful. I just had a fellow from Germany having issues adding a model. Turns out that a GitHub repo doesn't necessarily have to have it's README in the root dir, and if it's not in the root dir, there's no way to find out programmatically via their api: . Then, on top of that, I didn't realise Django was setup to email me errorby marcosscriven - General
Hi Gary Thanks for the note on Google+! Regarding the other feedback: - Will sort out tagging. Was planning on waiting until I had time to go the whole hog with AJAX - OpenSCAD crashes - in what way did it crash? The whole browser tab, or just a Javascript level error? I know there are some underlying memory leaks (which also hit the native version, albeit with much more use) - Github interaby marcosscriven - General
Hi Gary Thanks for the feedback and suggestions, and I think you're probably right about the News and Review thing. I just had a read of Thing Tracker Network - definitely very interested in having a chat about that! Will have a look at the Google+ page, and the GitHub repo tonight. Marcos EDIT - And oh my goodness, you've already added a model. Would love to know if that worked as expected?by marcosscriven - General
Hi I've just put this new site online: It allows you to add a model from your GitHub repo, and automatically stay in sync. Another cool feature (I hope!) is the ability to run OpenSCAD in the browser: I'd really be happy if anyone could try this out and let me know what they think? Thanks Marcosby marcosscriven - General

I had a similar issue before - thought I'd changed nothing, and then realised I'd used screen cleaner to clean the bed (which leaves some kind of anti-fingerprint/anti-static chemcial). I then cleaned the glass with acetone, and hey presto, back to sticking.by marcosscriven - General

Interesting - I have used the fan, but only for smaller layers and overhangs. Not seen it mentioned using it to prevent this, but will certainly keep it in mind once I get this sorted out.by marcosscriven - General

Hi I have a J-Head MK5B (on a Mendel90), which appears to be blocked. I think it has back filled and cooled in the wider, insulated part of the head, meaning it now won't extrude or reverse. Here's what happened: 1) I started printing a model in PLA with a hot end temp of 220C (as I have already done a few times with the very same filament, and an almost identical model) 2) Unfortunately, forby marcosscriven - General
It's definitely struggling, and quite a few people have offered to contribute. So how can we organise this?by marcosscriven - General
Glad it's of help - do you think you'll be building one soon then?by marcosscriven - Mendel90
I can't imagine a 400W PSU not being able to provide 200W on the 12V rail?by marcosscriven - General
mtvan85 Power and current are related by the equation P=IV, so if you're trying to see if 400W is enough to provide 18A at 12V, you simply multiply 18 by 12 = 216W So yes, a 400W supply would be more than sufficient.by marcosscriven - General
Finally got around to blogging about my experiences building a Mendel90 from Nop Head's kit:by marcosscriven - Mendel90
Just wondering about making cases for devices such as the Raspberry Pi - and guiding the LED indicators on the PCB to the outside. This method depends on total internal reflection - so wondering if a small part printed in clear PLA would be 'good enough' to transfer a decent amount of the light? I would imagine the intended direction of light transfer would have to be parallel to the printing lby marcosscriven - Printing
Hi Karabas I have this printer, but not used Kisslicer (which reads to me like Kiss Licer What makes it so good in your opinion? Do you know of any comparisons? Marcosby marcosscriven - Mendel90
Plus one for the Mendel90 from Nop Head - you won't be disappointed. The fan attachment on his latest ones really works wonders for overhangs (I did the Yoda Lite print, and the ears turned out well)by marcosscriven - General
Thanks for the responses. Appreciate what the normal is and how it can be calculated, from a 3D graphics perspective. However, purely for slicing, is the normal actually needed? As Viktor says, you can assume the outermost polygon represents the transition from 'outside' the solid to 'inside'. Marcosby marcosscriven - Developers
Looking here: ) I just realised that in addition to the three points specifying each of the triangles in the solid, the normal is also required. As stated in that wiki page, this can actually be calculated anyway, so it would seem superfluous, except as stated for shading effects. However, I'm not sure what a normal pointing inwards would mean anyway? In order to check my understanding though, aby marcosscriven - Developers

Just looking at section 17.2 of the ATmega1284P specs here It appears it should support 1M baud rate, 4x the default setting in my Marlin firmware. Is it safe to just change this and try it? Why is the default so low in the firmware? My motivation is the slow upload speed to the SD card, and the desire to not have to keep popping it physically into my computer. Marcosby marcosscriven - Sanguino(lolu)
Do you print from the SD card, or directly from a computer? Also, do you select 'monitor print'? If a computer is involved it could cause pauses/interrupts like this. I just connected mine up to a Raspberry Pi, and use it as a remote interface, but still choose to upload the GCode to the SD card first.by marcosscriven - Mendel90

Thanks for the suggestions guys - in the end simply placing the filament on the (relatively clean) floor next to the machine worked fine, as it was coiled in such a way as to simply lift away easily. Now that I can print though, I'll look into a Thingiverse solution.by marcosscriven - General
Thanks for response Gary - 'build notes' is probably far too grand a term, think more 'my experience following pretty good instructions'! I'll add it to blog this weekend, whilst trying your suggestion re cooling (I didn't have it switched on in Slic3r). I had planned to get it done sooner, but I took a frustrating step backwards yesterday, spending all evening wondering why my PLA suddenly stopby marcosscriven - Printing
