i'm pretty sure the script is pretty much like this: #include #define STEPS 200 Stepper stepper(STEPS, 1, 2); byte inbyte = 0; void setup() { Serial.begin(57600); stepper.setSpeed(30); } void loop() { inbyte = Serial.read(); if (inbyte == 'S') stepper.step(5); if (inbyte == 'D') stepper.step(-5); }by mlagana - General
OH and also after some frames i can HEAR the motor making a different sound... but stepper speed and stepper steps are the same so i should hear the SAME sound EVERY time correct? Meaning it can't be mechanical.. could it be the script let me find an old copy on my laptop...by mlagana - General
EXTREMELY URGENT can anyone tell me if the techzone gen3 remix stepper drivers are HALF stepping?? no mention in documentation or website at all means i assume it's full steps .... which if is not the case could have possibly screwed me a bit in non reprap related matters... stop motion animation ... we are doing shots that take 9 hours to achieve 4 seconds of animation, and we have animationby mlagana - General

i'm printing very reliably now and have been selling wades extruder kits for a while, have got hot ends and motors now too. in other words i have full extruder kits although haven't had time to actually take photos and advertise them and won't for a while as i'm freelancing for 3 more weeks this year though i hope to be able to sell electronics and cnc kits too, probably some kind of prusa mendeby mlagana - Australia, Sydney RUG
reprap firmware is set to control a stepper motor, not a DC motor. For DC i would suggest using replicator G and installing the makerbot firmware, but probably not the most recent firmware as they have also recently switched from DC to Stepper.by mlagana - Reprappers
maybe you could put some code in to move and pause the toolhead after printing the raft, and paint the raft with machine oil?by mlagana - General
fantastic! great work, will be ordering a bottle when i begin to tackle adding second extruder.by mlagana - Reprappers
ohh wow. Badass is an understatement! Ok my acrlyic converter plate has done the job for a couple of small parts so far: but in much more exciting news i finally designed a film gear that actually works!! I plan to sell these in aluminium and also a cheaper plastic version.by mlagana - Reprappers
i soldered to my board then those wires to screw terminals to overcome that obstacle i would definitely drill a hole for the thermistor, the hole serves to hold it really well and protect it and you're getting a reading much closer to where the plastic passes and without airflow onto the other half of it. if it ever does fall off and you're not there it will soar to extremely high temperaturesby mlagana - General
yes definitely a future public speakerby mlagana - General
i don't mind makerbot acting like a company, being in the media or advertising or whatever. but in that video-talk of that kid praising his makerbot to a way over enthused audience i DID mind him comparing the two simply as if they were companies and referring to reprap as 'unreliable'by mlagana - General
i would say that while makerbot probably send out press releases, university of bath probably not as much.by mlagana - General
ok i'm convinced. i can imagine it would enable us to print pretty decent bearings.by mlagana - General
`can you still upload the old firmwares? because originally the makerbot extruder was controlled this way. Not heaps up to date with replicatorG but i remember they used to retain old firmwares, or maybe you need to be looking in the machine.xml or look for old copies of the machine.xml... i'm not really sure sorryby mlagana - General
I don't know but if you guys need uranium i can get some (Jokes!!!! but there is heaps in my country so i could probably hook it up) I want to know what happened to adrians solder dropping toolhead as seen on vimeo, if he ever tried it with actual Gcode, dropping solder into abs grooves or if something came up and he deemed it unsuccessful.by mlagana - General
I was wondering if someone who knows could tell me if i could get away with using this thin wire in the photo above i scavenged from a 2d printer for the resistor of the heaterblock? It's 1mm thick and the wire is 5 strands of .15 wire.by mlagana - Reprappers
ah k. thanks for that i wasn't sure if she really knew, actually found a bit of support left in one of the holes and it dosn't look like ABS, slightly blue. As cefiar once pointed out to me, water isn't good for the actual object which is going to absorb the water too. I can't help but think the UP! ppl are on the right track. If you can solve the problem using software then why not. next best bet for me is Adrian's oil dispenser, only because i'de be more comfortable trying a mechanical approach to software because i am no programmer or g-code speby mlagana - General
also i updated my wades to adrians part, will start testing soon. The original part was a bit off, but still good enough to work:by mlagana - Reprappers
ATTENTION the film gear at the top of this page does not work!!! I put 11 teeth instead of 16?? this SHOULD work:by mlagana - Reprappers
i was thinking about a dual head for wax after seeing bodgits post about the dimension printers but i was thinking solenoid for opening and closing the wax nozzle and deemed it to expensive, now i'm considering going in adrians direction and mocking a pen full of machine oil beside the extruder, perhaps wtih a servo like makerbots pen thing.by mlagana - General
my printer is in pieces, i'm re doing the z axis for milling purposes. If it's ready in time maybe i could skype in? really nerd things up??by mlagana - Australia, Melbourne RUG
i think it's definitely possible, i sell resin polyurethane cast parts but you must go with the higher shore d rating , the description of the resin i use TC802 reads 'suitable where ABS like strength is needed' but still you might find there are certain parts that might benefit from being printed like prusa x carriage bearings, the extruder body.. i think if you think along the lines of castinby mlagana - General
i do like the way you have swapped the bolt around so the bearings are met by smooth 8mm rodby mlagana - Reprappers
i just tried M4 because it was a trend not because m3 was slipping, only have had teeth clogged when plastic wasn't melting enough in time or melt zone moving up and expandingby mlagana - Reprappers
Waiasaur if there is a section with no/bad teeth, please email me a photo and i will send you a new one I am hobbing it with an m4 tap now and the bigger teeth seem to go around the bolt and meet each other better than when i did it with m3, PS your parts are looking great.by mlagana - Reprappers
very nice. i like how you just plug a regular computer cable into it, which we all have a million of, makes it easier to transport if you forget the cable it's not the end of the world, everyone has a USB and power cable like that so you can probably just take your printer on the train to a friends with no cables! Also just having female USB and power plugs like that make it look and work more liby mlagana - General
i have a thingiverse account, i uploaded the film part and also a new idea of a part i want to get laser cut, my thingiverse is here: new part is a Wades geared body to Adrians hot end adaptor plate: Description i want to make this part by lasercutting 5mm acrlic, it also has four holes for adding a pcb board style screw terminal. my plan is to solder four wires from extruder board to itby mlagana - Reprappers
