Already purchased the heater cartridge thanks though. I just need to know how I would go about limiting itby tattooedfish - General
Most cases for me when i want to make something its not something someone else has already made. Which if I was a expert in cad 2d 3d design wouldn't be an issue. I'm learning but with lack of time / more important priorities leaves me little time to study and master design. Honestly there is a lot of awesome designs others have created that I get off thingiverse mostly. Its so much cooler thougby tattooedfish - General
Hey guys I know very little about this and have not found any solid info yet but I'm switching out the resistor that j head uses and trying one of the 12v 40w ceramic heaters. I'm not sure if my original extruding problem was related to my resistor but if not it couldnt be helping the issue i can't ever seem to crimp the connectors properly on the resistors and soldering seems to not last dueby tattooedfish - General

I will double check it worked fine for a little while then it just started jamming I cleaned it I'm going to swap out a spare brass nozzle I've been printing at 220by tattooedfish - General
I've been looking at the taulman 618, 645 and I'm excited to see the new t glase material coming out. Can anyone that has used these materials or others not listed chime in on what temps are working for you and which seem to be stronger / easier to print with overallby tattooedfish - General
Thank you for the suggestions I had already asked Chris at maker farm as that's where I originally purchased some parts for my prusa. I am at this point getting quotes and shopping around to get a average of pricingby tattooedfish - General
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask however I posted in the job area with no response but looking for someone stateside to laser cut or CNC either some acrylic / wood parts for a project I'm working on. This is my first time seeking out a company / individual for this and trying to get a idea of what its going to cost me. Can anyone recommend anyone I've found quite a few on Google bby tattooedfish - General

Looking for a reccomendation for a good hot end ? Ive been using the jhead mkiv-b but just not happy with the results I've been mostly printing with abs but would like to also try nylon and wood filament ?by tattooedfish - General

I'm not stuck on the decision of a ultimaker but here are my issues and what I don't like about the machine so far. I've probably used about 4lbs of filament so far to come to the conclusion that I waisted 60% of that with the learning curve. I want to convert to a Bowden style extruder so there is less weight being pushed around with the x axis . Ive had multiple jamming issues the filament willby tattooedfish - General

Hey guys ive been playing with the idea of breaking down my prusa i2 and using the electronics out of it and trying to convert it over to a ultimaker Does anyone know where I could purchase a kit minus the electronics?by tattooedfish - General
Sorry for not replying guys been busy my machine is a prusa I2 I have a MDF plate that 4 threaded rods pertrude out of from bottom up I am using the level nuts. One in each corner the heat bed is a mk1 my hot end is a mkiv-b I print with 3 km abs my printer is always hot when I'm trying to level it. I get it where it lays a even bead all the way around and I finally think I have it then when I gby tattooedfish - General
I'm really sketchy when it comes to altering the firmware settings it took me forever to track down the correct code and work the bugs out of my printer. I will have to see what the amp rating is on this one before I try that I think im going to buy another power supply to start and if that doesn't help then I will look into changing the code. The power supply I have is out of one of those miniby tattooedfish - General

I am using an older power supply out of a junk computer. It takes fooooreever to heat up my mk1 heat bed about 30 minutes give or take ambient room temperature which is usually around the mid to upper 70's What factors play into the speed the heating of the bed? my hot in can go from cold to 200+ in less than 3 minutes I understand general electronics but what makes the bed take so much longby tattooedfish - General
are there any easy solutions out there to automate the bed level process a little more? I work 10 hours a day and have little time to use my reprap and it almost seems like everytime I try to print I spend 3+ hours trying to get the bed level then its bed time and I end up not doing a print then when I find time to mess with it I have to start all over again. is bed level something you have toby tattooedfish - General

maybe I can upload the file and get someone to take a look at it for me and see whats up ?by tattooedfish - General
I designed something in solidworks with specific dimensions and saved as stl file. the object I made is only a few inches in size but when I try to open it in pronterface it gives me lots of errors and when I open it in repieter host it drops down on the bed but is HUGGE and I have to manually resize it and save the stl file. Kind of a pain but I can get it close by eyeballing it no biggie. Hoby tattooedfish - General

Why don't all of your friends go in together and build one for class see if school will chip in as obviously it would be a great learning tool then from there u can all use the first one to make your own ?by tattooedfish - General
