Correctemundo. I am relying on the fact that I build the printbed so well, that I will not use leveling. However, if it turns out I really have to use it, I will simply make an extra plate of aluminum and attach it on top of the printbed like I created my last carriage on the Air 2. Maybe I'm over-confident, but so far everything looks incredibly level I hope it turns out 'really' level when Iby Ohmarinus - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Pffff finally time for bed. I have finished the Y-carriage and yesterday I finished the X-carriage as you can see in pictures above. Here's a short movie showing the Y-carriage: Tomorrow I'll start hooking up the controller and the PSU and start testing if all the electronics work the way they should I will look for instructions on commissioning Ramps 1.4 electronics because I would like toby Ohmarinus - Extruded Aluminum Frames

I adjusted the frame a little bit, but I was letting it sit there after I did that and then after 15 minutes I heard a piece of plastic cracking mildly like *pling* as if a layer cracked just a little bit. I cannot find out where exactly and the structural integrity seems to be still ok. I'll try to getby Ohmarinus - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Wanted to finish the printer today, however, suddenly not all four feet are all touching the ground... I have re-measured the entire frame and checked if every corner is straight, I cannot find the reason why the printer suddenly is unstable. Is used to be stable on all four corners, touching my table. Also checked on another flat table to be sure. Clueless now. Would it be wise to completely dby Ohmarinus - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Okay, I'll crimp some wires together so they fit into the 5A input (however might as well be the 11A input since it's from the same PSU, but I'll use the 5A). For the fan splitter, it's this one: Here's the manual: However, they connect the complete splitter to the extruder fan output. Oh, btw, considering the image, I'm switching out extruder and electronics fan because the electronics faby Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
nechaus, how would you cut carbon fiber rods? I have a few that need to be cut, however I am afraid to use my saw on it in case of splintering. The reason why I have those rods (4mm ø) is because I am building a Mendocino motor, so they are incredibly lightweight and strong. Do you also happen to know if I need to fixate the material somehow? I had a few small splinters in my hands from the matby Ohmarinus - General
Wow, okay, that feels very illogical, in the firmware it's like 1-2-3 extruder(1) - bed(2) - fan(3) but on the RAMPS itself it's actually 2-3-1 Thanks for clearing that up! SO I will safely use motherboard 33 with the Fan on D9, bed on D8 and extruder1 on D10. I also have a fan-splitter from G3D, do you think I can hook the main of the fan-splitter up to the 'Electronics' fan/5A input? This seemby Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
Hi guys, so, finally time for the MendelMax that I'm working on. I've run into a little trouble. While trying to figure out how to connect my fans, and how to connect the hotend, I discovered I need a little guidance. In the firmware, I've set the RAMPS type to '34' // 33 = RAMPS 1.3 / 1.4 (Power outputs: Extruder, Bed, Fan) // 34 = RAMPS 1.3 / 1.4 (Power outputs: Extruder0, Extruder1, Bed) Hby Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
Good to read, the only thing missing in the dremel kit was a metal brush to remove rust and there is no wheel included to cut wood with!! How the hell can they not put that in?? So the things I will add to the kit are some kind of wheel to cut wood and good metal brushes. Cheap ones are bad, because the metal hairs fly off. Nice, nope haven't got a drill stand yet, I was thinking to build my own with either 3D-prints or buying a 2nd hand one from the web since I see them coming around every week. They cost too much being new. Maybe I should give it a try to make my own hotend, I have bought two hotends in the past that didn't perform and were a waste of money, I could combine the two to make a good one since they dby Ohmarinus - General
Hi guys, I just bought myself a christmas present (well not really, I just wanted it haha), it's a Dremel 4000, the 'Platinum' version with an aluminum chest and all kinds of addons. Now, I already have enough purposes for it, from creating small parts for all kinds of applications, but it is also very handy to make small adjustments to printed parts with. The only problem is all this plastic dusby Ohmarinus - General
Hi Matt, thanks for your reply, sad enough I can't see 'View Changes' either, maybe a privilege thing since you're an Admin Would be great if it could work again, it's a real shame my images can't be seen anymore To make the images visible again I have to first generate a link code per image and make a list of them, and I am afraid it's just too much work since a few albums contain a lot of imby Ohmarinus - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Hi, in the past it was possible to insert an imgur album, however, I haven't been here for a month or so and now suddenly all the albums are gone because the codes are not displayed anymore!!! This is terrible since I cannot edit my posts and topics, therefor rendering them useless, and also removing a nice amount of good printer-photography (I try my best at them!). Could this please be re-enaby Ohmarinus - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Hi Normand, thanks for your reply, I saw it too, have fixed it now with just the images in the post itself. A shame the imgur galleries don't work on here anymore, now I have to search through all my old posts and repair it.. Meanwhile you can now see the pictures Man this sucks, I can't edit my old posts!!!!!!!!! I wish the admins could allow an iFrame again when it's for imgur... Oh man, I was so tired of finishing my MendelMax 1.5 last summer.. Only stupid problems all the time. Parts that didn't work well together, being stuck on deciding how to improve parts but not having the time to improve them...

Okay, what I've done, and I've noticed the heater thermistor is a little off, is change the values in the Thermistor table. By looking my logs, I've noticed that the heater temp was always much lower than room temp and now that it is becoming winter, thats where the problem lies. The starting temperature of the hotend was generating so much resistance in the thermistor, that the firmware thoughtby Ohmarinus - Controllers
Hey guys, thanks, I will have to check the connection then, I'll do it right now. It is the thermistor that came with the G3D Budaschnozzle, so I have no idea if the contacts are crimped. So the only place I can check is the connection on the Sanguino.by Ohmarinus - Controllers
Hi guys, my thermistor is working fine when on temperature, the printer works fine at 226º celsius. However, when the thermistor is cold, the resistance has been changing. Now when it's 19º in the room, the thermistor reads 0.30º, the time before it was 3.40º so it keeps on going down. The times before it was consecutively 10º and 16ª. Alright, I will be putting them both on the same PSU output then The PSU is rated 24 amps, and I have made a nice 80mm ø hole in the casing and put an 80mm fan to cool the inside and blow cool air on the cooling element inside the PSU. I received a batch of ten new thermistors this week, so I can finally finish my work on the printer!by Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
So, if i'm correct, the 11 and 5 amp can be attached to the same rails as long as the total that the psu can deliver is above 16 amps?by Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
Hi, yes, this is actually my second printer I'm building and I've never had these problems with my first one. I indeed did measure the resistance, but all the broken ones returned zero. The ones that worked actually reported resistance So I hope the thermistors that will be here in a few weeks will workby Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
Okay I have cut it off and it works now. I did however damage a trace on the board, but it looks still like a closed connection. I keep getting a mintemp/maxtemp triggered error. I have tried two thermistors, but turned out both were broken. How can I measure my thermistors to check if they work?by Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
Thanks for your reply, I will use the same gauge wire for both the 11A and 5A input. Too bad both Thermistors I had turned out to be broken so now I have to wait another two shitty weeks before I can finally start printing... Argh. The power connector is physically interfering with the Ramps board. On the Ramps, the power connector has long pins that protrude on the bottom and hit the power conby Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
Hey thanks, thats the problem. My PSU has only one 12V output, but can handle way over the required amps. With the Sanguino I have it worked fine, but my Ramps has one 11amp and one 5amp input.. I am confused how to solve this. This is the PSU: QuoteThe bottom pair of connectors marked 5A power the stepper drivers and Extruder heater/fan (D9, D10). The source should be rated a minimum of 5A.by Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
Hey, cool you took the time to examine. I have to admit that I really like your workaround. Didn't think of hanging it like that, so it's a bit out of the box For me, the solution still has been to mount the motors on the bottom, but your solution probably works just as well! I hope others use itby Ohmarinus - Look what I made!
Hi guys, my Ramps has an input for 11 Amp and one for 5 Amp. It is a Ramps from the Gadgets 3D kit. However, my PSU just has one output (that I know of). Also, this PSU has enough power to supply more than the combined 16 Amp. Can I just split the + and - into two + and - ?? Also, the power connector on the Arduino Mega is in the way, would I ever need this for anything? If it is never used,by Ohmarinus - RAMPS Electronics
