Heres a small set of pictures so you can see how I made the heated bed:by Ohmarinus - General
To be honest, I am totally new to tolerances. I come from a creative background and not a technical one. So just trying out new things here It's the first time I had contact with a technical company to order special parts. The part about tolerance is here, I hope you understand a bit of Dutch:by Ohmarinus - General
Yes it's in their datasheet, I am not familiar with tolerances and just decided to experiment, but I can look it up for you and share the information if you want. I thought to just start printing parts and see if it fits and adjust according to the tolerances uGen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Interesting, PTFE alone has rather bad wear (but > excellby Ohmarinus - General
I would, saves your nozzle when a print is warping. chris33 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > i wouldnt use springsby Ohmarinus - General
I've never quite understood the whole Up! concept together with reprappers, if you buy an Up and you are a member here, why make such a difficult workaround..? Why not just put in a sanguino and change the stepper drivers? Is this very difficult to do with an Up?by Ohmarinus - General
Because I was tired of the re-leveling all the time I just made an aluminum bed, made of two plates with the top one pushed up by springs. The bed never changes height. Just make sure the bed is absolutely level, and then, do the further adjustment for height with a screw that hits the endstop. When the bed is perfectly leveled, the height of your nozzle might not be ok, so that is fixed with theby Ohmarinus - General
Nice, no leadscrews, nice cable-ties, you used a less common stepper driver, and you have limit switches on both sides of the axis! Looks impressive. I think I could learn a thing or two from you Meanwhile, I'm still busy figuring out how to create: - X-carriage - X-ends with nuts for M8 leadscrews Both for my to-be MendelMax. Did you design all the printed parts yourself?by Ohmarinus - Extruded Aluminum Frames
I've seen cheaper sets on emaker, you can see a Prusa i3 kit with everything (including motors) for around 180 euros, if you add printed parts to that and a sanguino with pololu's (for around 79 euros), you can have a good kit for less than 350 euros. This might be a bit more in Dollars, and you have to pay customs fee. Anyway, it's good to kind of look around before you buy.by Ohmarinus - General
It looks very much like a raft, I don't know what else it can be sorry. And I can't imagine this is a software error. Please look at all the different options, it's easy to overlook somethingby Ohmarinus - General
"If anyone knows why this might be and how to fix it please respond." We need a bit more info on what your setup is, PSU, sanguino/ramps etc. We can't just 'feel' what your problem is with the limited information you're sharing. It can be: A broken mosfet, a hardware problem, a software problem, a firmware problem, a cable issue, a PSU issue, etc etc etc.by Ohmarinus - General
If you want to build a new one, I recommend you get a kit that has everything in it. I am fully capable and even I had difficulties working with a kit because the kit just wasn't put together right. This meant I had to find out everything myself, order extra parts etcetera. I know there are many good kits around, but also a few very bad ones (don't buy any Trinitylabs kits for example). Looks like a Raft, did you turn on the Raft option?by Ohmarinus - General
Ok, so the linear bearings were both around 50 and 70 cents. These are the models I've bought: The one with the edge was the more expensive one. Both linear bushing/bearings are lined with a layer of Pb-PTFE for smooth, oilless operation. From the inside to the outside of the material the layers consist of Steel, Sintered bronze and then a lining of Pb-PTFE The DU-type bearing I bought, haby Ohmarinus - General
I'm not having very good experiences with formfutura's filament. The ABS filament has a lot of warping problems, doesn't adhere to the printbed and has severe delamination problems on higher objects. However, I have used the clear ABS filament from www.filamentenmeer.nl (this is filament from Repraper) and it adheres well to my bed, doesn't warp at all, no delamination, and I can get away with pby Ohmarinus - General
Hi uGen, I will post some pictures of my machine, and of the bushings I've ordered now. Indeed I've scored some sintered bronze bushings, BUT, they have a very nice coating of PTFE that gives them almost no resistance. To add, I have found myself some very affordable chromed rods, this means that I don't have to lubricate anything and the rods will probably never wear I'll keep you posted.by Ohmarinus - General
Hi guys, I am trying to find where I can change the M5 threaded rod for the Z-axis to M8. I have already created custom bearing settings so my X-ends have a 10mm hole without a split side to accomodate the pushfit linear bushings I have, but I just can't figure out where the nut holes can be changed to accomodate an M8 nut and rod. I found the file called 'nuts_and_bolts.scad' and I have been lby Ohmarinus - General

Hi, thanks, in the meanwhile I have created my own X-ends too, I am using the Prusa i3 X-ends, because I want vertical rods (I think they look beautiful and give better accessibility). Also, I have ordered Chromed rods, and a combination of two different push-fit bearings (this setup is VERY EXPENSIVVVVV, damn.. chromed rods are incredibly expensive, on the other hand, I can re-use the rods on oby Ohmarinus - Extruded Aluminum Frames

Who says they are not traceable? The info is right here: Anyway, at first I felt shitty that I didn't order anything from them instead of from my previous supplier, but now I read this, I feel less worse. The Orca looks like a good machine (though I have heard bad things about the extruder), and I had almost bought it!by Ohmarinus - General
Hi uGen, I am aware of these bushings, I have also been following the other topic in which talk takes place about self-printed bushings, and even some tests with PLA! However, the vitamins I have ordered and by budget don't allow me to buy either IGUS bushing, nor another hotend and all the other things needed with it to print the other types of material. So for me, getting incredibly good bushby Ohmarinus - General
