Hotend + Heated Bed questions - 13 years ago
Hi. Could you help me on some questions according to the prusa i3 I am building: 1 - I bought this hotend: G3D Buda-style HotEnd v1.2. Was this a good choice? Whats the best ones on the market? 2 - I have seen some videos on youtube that seems to have some kind of yellow/gold tape on the hotend, while printing. What is it, and why is it? 3 - I assume nobody prints directly on the MK2A Heatedby Crux - General

Could I get a second opinion if 16.5A from xbox 360 psu will be enough for a prusa i3 with the hot bed like this: Did anyone use this kind of configuration? I am going to get the xbox 203W psu tomorrow. Thanksby Crux - General

thank you bob, but my question is: do i need to power the arduino mega 2560 too? In this picture: both red arrows point to a power pinout. Should I connect both to 12v? And I believe xbox 360 charger is about 12A. Is this enough?by Crux - General

Thank you for the replies. I wilil buy one on ebay then. Check the picture attached. Should I connect the 12v to Ramps 1.4, or to the Mega 2560? Or maybe on both? I am confusedby Crux - General

Hi. Can I use a spare computer atx power supply? It's a 2HX DNA 500W Is this a good choice? Or should I use something else? What are you guys using as a power supply on your prusa? Thanks!by Crux - General

I already have the complete greg's wade reloaded extruded. Would anything be usuable? what parts would be needed to adapt the g3g buda-style hotend? Would anyone point me on the right way to adapt it? Sorry for being a noob hereby Crux - General

Dam. Just figured out how stupid I was. I printed a single selection from the wiki page, and i printed the wrong one. I printed the boxed one. That was my fault. Thank you for the reply!by Crux - General

whats the link? could you provide it? I only see and it shows same simensions i quoted in previous post. I am building the Single Sheet Frame Style is this it? Quote X Axis; 2x 370mm M8 smooth 1x 20mm M8 smooth (for extruder idler, use 8x20 threaded rod or grub screw instead as substitute) Y Axis; 4x 205mm M8 threaded - Note 210mm for nyloc nuts. So, that list is really confused, as those dimensions on official link are for this model, and thats the one i am building And I already have cutted some rods. Could someone confirm me the dimensions please. Now I am even more confusedby Crux - General
